Should I upgrade my Sennheiser HD515 to HD558?

Just IMO but I hate the hd558 cable and adapter for portable use :frowning2: . And there's pretty much no replacement cable for it (other than the stock version). Really wish I had known this before I bought them...

you can try to buy a short male to female cable to help relieve stress of the 3.5 port on your portable device, i use a cable splitter that has 1 male port and 2 female ports which total to a 3 inches long cable, these stuff are really cheap so i hope this helps

OK, after using it for a while.. I find HD558 too be lacking in bass, the high and mid is better than my HD515, but the bass is not to my satisfaction..

I think I'm going to sell my HD558, I think I'm not happy with it.. it may not be worth the upgrade from HD515

well the bass on the hd518 is better, bit since its probably similar to hd515, probably its best to stick to the hd515

If you listen to them long enough, you'll eventually hear them as having a good amount of bass. There will be a psychological change, and burn-in will help as well (though not much). You may want to wait a little longer and see.
