I have the ATH-A700 and they are VERY nice. They even handle Dubstep which has some serious lowend. Also consider a pair of JVC HARX700 for $34 SHIPPED while you're deciding. At that low price I believe everyone should own a pair. They have VERY nice lowend. With audiophile quality recordings they sound very balanced and present bass when it's in the recording. For $165 you could have BOTH the HARX700 and the ATH-A700 and be VERY happy with 2 sets of cans to choose from.
