So, I have been thinking about getting 1 or 2 headphones. (the ones mentioned in the description.) I listen to dubstep, dance, classical, jazz and acoustic. Anyone have any thoughts on either?

I wear my Hi2050 (HPT990) way more then my HM5s.
The HPT990 is cheaper and comes with Velour ear pads.

So, you really think I'd like the HPT990 more? Any extra info helps. And thank you for your contributions in another one of my threads. Helps keep me well informed. :)

I prefer to use open headphones over closed headphones.
The HPT990 will also offer more bass.

Can anyone tell me whether the Technical Pro HPT990 always comes with the silver metal carrying case? Not sure whether different sellers may have different 'versions' or 'bundles.' Thanks for any info!

I think they always come with the case.  I recommend the HPT990s over the HM5s, as well.  I had the NVX Audio XPT100 and the 990s got way more head time.  I found them to be more involving.  And I think they'll be a lot better for the genres you mentioned.  Not to mention they're half the price.
