Right now I am using the Pico, and I am about o sell off my D2000's because they just do not match the sound of my customs. Is it worth getting a fullsize amp to power my iems, or is it too much money for minor improvements over the pico.

Why? IEMs are highly efficient. I drive mine straight out of an iPod.

I've tried them out of my full-sized amps and found no improvement.

you definitely don't need any more of an amp than the pico to power iem's, in fact pico probably is even a little bit too powerful for iem's!

I would say that it depends on the iem. I experienced huge improvements when I recabled and balanced my ER4 for use with my RPX-100, so much so that I ended up selling my GS-1000 and L3000. They still don't give me quite enough low end for some recordings but overall they are the thing for me in that configuration.
