I Was going to go for the RE-262's hands down then I came across a thread telling everyone how great the SHE3590/3580's are!

Now I cant decide, Price Ignored (unless its a minute difference) Which do you guys think would be better for

Techno/Pop

Before I also had the S4I They were painful on my ears (high's) still better than stock Iphone earbuds. Lost those on a road trip! haha >.<

Also what would be a good compact portable amp for the Iphone?

Thanks! I appreaciate the input!

Not only will you need an amp with the RE262s, you need to find the CORRECT amp with it... I think the 262s might be a bit more fair with amp matching compared to the RE272, but either way you can't just buy a simple amp and say that's enough. I thought the RE272s sounded great with my Hifiman HM-602 player and the JDSLabs C421

I have the SHE3580 and the GR07, and the latter wins hands down. The SHE3580 are great for their price, but don't stand a chance against a more expensive IEM worth it's salt.

While I have not heard either of the aforementioned IEMs.

I could not agree more with your closing statement.

A 10 dollar wonder only does one thing for me... Wonder whether it will work the next time I need it. Not to say that there is anything wrong with them. They are just not for me.

Further more, If I have to purchase an amp to drive them... I'm going bigtime for a "Worth It's Salt" headset.

Just my opinion, Jim

I'm actually a bit confused by this thread. Why are you comparing a $10 IEM to one of the most respected ones at its price of $150? I understand there's a quest for the best value imaginable, but this is a but unrealistic.

I'm taking into consideration that people are stating that they are using the She3590/3580 over the ER-4P which are a $200 IEM, (as stated in the thread that was started about the quality of the SHE3590/3580)

Its not really a quest for best "value" its more of, Affordable and quality, The Re-262 are at the top of the list comparing to much more exspencive headsets, its successors are a bit out of my $ range. So if $200 headsets are being left to collect dust of course I'm going to consider the $10 headset.

I Like to believe some things have an amazing design, Some of the highest quality items cost $20 to make and sell for $200+

Also true with some of the lowest quality items.. Dr Dre beats for example. Really just a $30 headset

Never heard the ER4P, but the SHE3580 aren't mind-blowingly amazing. Fun and all, but not truly a great IEM. If you don't mind dropping $7 bucks, you can always pick up a pair locally.

Definitely will not be a waste of money. Mines are currently my beater headphones.
