I always shave in the shower using soap, no mirror, and use the same blade cartridge about a month.
Unless I go 4-5 days without shaving, then I need a new cartridge.

I bought 200 blades for 15 dollars I think.
Each blade lasts 2 shaves, one shave on each side.
15 bucks for 400 days. Funnily enough, it's also the closest and most comfortable shave I've ever gotten.
Those cartridge blades are good for the back of the neck, you can be sloppier with them.

I don't shave the back of my neck, it hasn't seen the Sun in years, or my back. I know someone who does though.

You guys must have some wild hair. I shave my neck and my head with a safety razor three times before I have to replace a blade.

The best shave I've found for my old gray stubble is using Gillette blades, the shower, a hang up mirror, my wifes hair conditioner. I tried all the cheap alternative blades and they don't hold a candle to a multiblade Gillette. I can get a good month or two out of them if I give the face a good lather of conditioner and let it soften it up but good.
