Almost four years ago, Shanling UP5 was released as the top model of our UP line of portable Bluetooth DAC/AMPs. And it was actually the last UP model to be made, with the following years sadly seeing no new compact Bluetooth models, as the focus shifted onto the bigger DACs of the H line.

But in 2025 we are coming back to the compact Bluetooth DACs and bringing the UP line back to life with a fully upgraded new flagship model, Shanling UP6!

The upgraded audio section utilizes two ESS ES9069Q DACs and pairs them with dual SGM8262 amplifiers for a fully balanced headphone output. Together, they offer up to 626mW @ 32Ω output power, running directly from the internal battery, without any need for external power and extra cables. With such powerful output, UP6 belongs among the most powerful compact Bluetooth DACs and easily matches top-tier USB dongle DACs.

Its Bluetooth section has been modernized with the Qualcomm QCC5125 module, bringing support of LDAC, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive & AAC for smooth and top-quality wireless streaming. And when the occasion allows, the UP6 can be used as a USB DAC with computers or smartphones, taking full advantage of lossless Hi-Res playback thanks to the XMOS XU316 USB input.

UP6 follows the trends set by our UA dongle DACs and takes over the design from UA6. Keeping the durable aluminium construction, fitting it into just a slightly bigger body, while keeping the weight at just around 50g. UP6 also features a bigger 1.54-inch colour screen, which is essential for direct access to all key settings right on the unit. And if you need a bit of extra touch, our Eddict Player app adds in a few additional settings, including EQ and OTA updates.

Visit UP6 dedicated product pages for full details.

UP6 is now shipping to official international Shanling distributors.

Also available at our only official shop at Store.Shanling.com

MSRP at 199 USD

Interesting....4.5 hours of battery life on balanced 4.4mm seems abysmal, but the trade-off is that its a super small form factor weighing at 51 grams while outputting 620mw. Definitely wished that they could have upped the battery and increased the size and weight a bit, but definitely an interesting proposition.

Hi,

4.5 hours is not a lot :frowning2:
And I assume this is what is measured so real time usage will probably be about 3.5 to 4h.

But it looks interesting.

One question though : it is written that Eddict player can allow EQ.
How does it work ?
Do you EQ the UP6 in Eddict and then you keep EQ even if not using Eddict ?
That would be interesting....
Even if some others already offer build-in PEQ and not simple EQ...

Regards

I own the UP5 and sometimes it glitches and starts trying to charge instead of trying to connect as a USB DAC from my phone (not a USB cable problem). Would be good of this was fixed via updates and if this isn't a problem with the UP6. Not too sure if this could be solved by software updates, but more support for your products would be appreciated!
