Shanling UP6 - New Advanced Portable Bluetooth DAC/AMP at $199

@Shanling this is a great looking product, just one question: On the product page link, it states single ended output impedance is < 1Ω, but no value is specified for the balanced output. Is it the same or higher as is sometimes the case?

The balanced output impedance is 1.2 Ohm, so the single-ended should be 0.6 Ohm.

Thank you. Perhaps it would be worthwhile to add the balanced output impedance to the product page. I appreciate the information!

It was there, seems some mistake on the graphics. Will talk with IT to fix it.

Thank you very much @Shanling . I ordered from Musicteck, USA (before the strange current geopolitics impede opportunity to do so). I went to Shanling website to download driver to use as USB DAC, version 5.20 states it is for Win 10 only. I suspect it works for Win 11 also. Please verify. Thank you for all of your help. :)

Yes, it's the same for both.

@Shanling : How many bands does the eq have?
10

Just recieved mine today, blue looks baller.

On the packaging it states 10 Band Paramettic EQ , I let @Shanling know that's incorrect, it's a 10 Band Graphic EQ with presets and one customizable setting set with the Eddict player app.

I am surprised people are concerned about the battery life on battery mode only nothing stopping you from charging the UP6 while listening to it? If your away from a power source what are you doing to have a over 4hr listening sessions?

Just curious 🤔?

Received the UP6 yesterday and already I am enjoying it's sound quality, preferable to my prior workhorse FiiO BTR7. One think I do miss about BTR7 was that I could connect it to my PC as a USB 2.0 DAC even while already connected to my phone or DAP via Bluetooth. If a phone call came in while I was USB connected, the BTR7 would switch to Bluetooth made so I could answer the call, then once I hung up the music would resume.. However, that simultaneous USB DAC and "Bluetooth on standby" functionality does not seem possible with UP6, and indeed with UP6 the only way I can use it as a USB DAC is to first disconnect the Bluetooth connection and leave it off.

@Shanling if there is a way to reproduce the BTR7 functionality I described (or if this can be added in a future update to the UP6 or Eddict Player as a control option to switch from USB to Bluetooth "on the fly") that would be most welcomed. :) :notes:

We are aware. The software team promises the parametric EQ in future app update.

No, there is no such option on UP6. it needs to disconnect from phone to be used as USB DAC.

Just got the UP6 yesterday. Only had a short time to use it, but it sounds great so far. Tried both USB and LDAC, and I do appreciate in Bluetooth mode that the artist and song name are shown. Buttons are responsive, and the blue color looks fantastic IMO. The brown leather case is nice and fits the UP6 well.

Will update later as I use the UP6 more. Looking forward to the update that adds PEQ functionality.

I received the UP6 a few days ago and I've been enjoying every minute of it since. The battery issue really hasn't bothered me at all. Rarely as a Dad do I have the time to listen for over 4 hours. Unless cutting grass but I have other less new BT dac/amps for that. Namely the Qudelix 5k. When I'm in my office I usually will plug it in so for my life it makes no issue. Granted, that's just me. Anyways, the sound quality is great. Also, through us dac mode the UP6 is very solid. So far I only have good things to say. Really a nice unit.

Truly enjoying UP6, sounds great using LDAC Bluetooth and even better connected as USB DAC! I did have a concern arise which is when using it without charging enabled it ran to nearly empty, and the "Low Battery" red flashing indicator came on. Initially I could not get into the menu options to enable charging as long press on the multifunction button did not work, it just kept flashing "Low Battery".

Thus @Shanling my question is: If I get into this situation again is there a "failsafe" to force the UP6 to charge even if it was set to "No Charge" so I don't ever brick the device inadvertently? Thanks!

The charging switch only dictates how the charging when UP6 is powered On.
When off, it will always start charging again.
