Hi, lil' user feedback about the DT 770 and the UP4 2022 :
With the golden knob cranked at maximum, in 3.5mm dual DAC unbalanced, the 80 ohm version is at 5/10 of volume from my phone via Bluetooth to be "fairly loud enough".

With the knob at ~75-80% I need 8/10 of volume setting in Bluetooth.

Sooooo : could the UP4 2022 drive the DT 770 in 250 ohms unbalanced? yes, maybe, but it wouldn't be optimal.
The Sennheiser HD 600 with its 300 ohms with unbalanced cable? Nah, I don't think so, it would need the balanced wire/cable.

Thanks for the advice/recommendations 🙏!

I tryed Sennheiser HD 800 with its 300 ohms via 3.5mm with UP4 2020. Sufficient enough. UP4 was USB connected to Sony PS5. It was Uncharted 4 video game. Sometimes I was forced to lower from maximum volume level 'cos it was too loud.

Uh, guess I had a wrong impression!
Outside of volume strength, the quality/response seemed as good with the UP4 as something more powerful? (like, bass or details)

I will buy the 250 ohm to try of DT-770 finally, kinda disappointed with the noisy cable of the 80, and choose which one to keep, or resent both.
I'll write here the result, so I someone search about it, it would be a direct answer.

I have the shanling up4 2022 (gold knob), upon connecting to some devices like other daps or when using as usb-dac, the volume is always set to minimum which is a big inconvenience. Where can I find the volume memory toggle? I've updated to 1.3.5 using eddict player but I can't find any toggles for volume memory. Any help would be appreciated!

edit: specified that I have the up4 2022 edition with the gold knob

This setting was available in the old Shanling controller app, but when moving to Eddict Player, software team didn't implement it. We asked for it few times, but it was never added.

As such, it's not possible to set volume memory on UP4 22.

I just bought a used UP4 22 and have a couple of questions about charging.

1) It says it is recommended to charge it only with a 1A charger. None of my wall chargers are 1A and all of them are over 1A. Has anyone fried their unit charging it with 2.1A charger?

2) I am using a 1.2A charger right now but when I plug it in to charge, the red light does NOT come on to tell me it's charging unless I do a quick click on the gold wheel button. Is this normal?

3) My understanding is the regular computer USB ports supply 500mA. Does the UP4 22 charge if I simply plug it into my computer using a regular USB A to USB C cable?

The up4 will not charge. If the charger is too strong. It only charges with weak chargers

You can use your computer usb port.

If you using basic USB-A charger, which normally runs at 5v/ 2A, it will work just fine. But be aware that PD chargers might not work.

You can also use computer port to charge.

Mine does the same thing. Sometimes the light works, most of the time it doesn't. I have a USB tester and a USB-C cable with power display so I can be sure it is charging.

Yo,

Personally, it works just fine with my classical Samsung 18 watt chargers (like 2 differents, those from 2016-2020, compatible QC 2.0, 5V 2A, 9V 1.67A) with a standard USB C 3.0 cable

And clearly, a random PC port is enough to charge it, but I never had issues with any chargers until now
(and because it's compatible with PC, it seems to charge as the same time as using it. how fast versus a standard charger ? hard to tell, but sound is better that most PC internal audio chips, so you can keep it plugged to your PC, and it works fine with the 250 ohm DT 770)
