Hi @Shanling I am a bit undecided on which way to go either a DAP (M3 ultra) and stop using my old Samsung Galaxy S8 or a DAC (UA5) and keep using my S8. Which one do you reckon has the better sound quality?

For this one I would say our M3 Ultra is better sounding. UA5 was better than original M3X, but the M3 Ultra pushes it with sound quality quite a bit further.
@Shanling Thanks so much for the speedy reply. 1 more question does the M3 Ultra have a replay gain feature or something that can normalize sound across different tracks?
This depends on whichever app you will use.

Is there any update for UA5 for it's android bug ? I have UA5 for several months, usually connect it to laptop. Now I try with android phone (S23U and Rog6), both have problem no sound. I must open the music app, play it and plug in the UA5, then I can hear the sound. I thought my dac is problem @Shanling . Check the website, no update yet for this problem. I Have no problem connect my phone using RU6

Found the beta firmware, will try flash it. @Shanling is it possible to downgrade the firmware after i flash the beta ? where i can fine official firmware ? just in case i want to rollback to official firmware.

Shanling has a fix but have decided to not make it publicly available. You need to get it from @Shanling (monitor the thread) and will give you a link to the new FW).

We recommend installing it only if you are facing issue with Android connection (most likely Samsung, some LGs)
Otherwise stay at the default firmware.

So once i flash to alternate firmware, there is no way go back to official firmware, just in case new firmware have other bug that's not exist in official firmware ?
I try UA5 on 2 my phone (all running at android 13) have the same problem
If you facing the issue, update to the alternative firmware.
I have problem using asio in foobar. Already install driver from shanling, but when i choose asio : shanling ua5, it's always error Unrecoverable playback error: Could not initialize the driver. using version 02.01.04.
Using wasapi normal, but bitrate limited to 44k
Strange, I'm running it wasapi on my foobar and getting all sampling rates without issue.

I install 2 driver, shanling usb driver 5.20 and shanling usb audio driver v2.2. is it needed to install both ?
forgot to mention, i play dsd file. Looking for setting, if i set in sacd to pcm, now i can get 384kbps. But when i change to dsd in sacd setting, it got distort sound. This is using wasapi, still cannot get shanling asio working.
