Hello

I got mine Yesterday.
First LDAc does not work, Ok fixed.
Update is not possible,
Telefon call does not work, OK fixed.

Can you help me?

Hi, firstly, what phone are you using? The phone refuses to switch to LDAC, what does it use instead?

What firmware is on your MT200? You can use manual update if the OTA is not working: https://en.shanling.com/download/72

@Shanling

Will there be a Warning for low Battery? For Example, something like 1 Beep at the last 10% and 2 Beeps at 5% or something with a Voice. It's a little bit annoying if you're lost in your favorite music and the device suddenly stops working. Would be really great!

My Shanling MW200 is not charging. Discharged and now does not charge. Tried different chargers and cables.
It's a shame, I only used it for 20 days.

Broken Shanling MW200 - not charging.
Try to leave it on charger for a bit longer, it might catchup after a bit. Better on some lower powered charger, like USB port on your computer.

If it doesn't, please contact your seller for warranty.

I was surprised when I tried different cables to charge. They did not work. For some strange reason, only the stock cable worked.

I wrote to the seller (Shanling Official on Aliexpress), he sent me recommendations for recovery and none of them helped.

The recommendations were as follows:
"When you encounter a situation where the product cannot be turned on or charged, please try the following methods to solve it:
1. Reset it.
2. Try to replace other charging heads or charging cables
3. The battery of your machine may be in an over-discharged state and requires low-current trickle charging. Therefore, it is recommended to connect a computer and other low-current charging equipment to charge the machine for more than two hours before checking whether it can be turned on.
4. The above does not work, you can try to let the machine stand for two to three days, and then recharge to see if it can recover. Because sometimes it may be that the machine is stuck, and it can be restored to normal after the battery is powered off."
----

I tried all methods, except for number 1, because the instructions do not provide a way to reset the device settings (Hard Reset).
1. There is no way to do it.
2. I tried to charge from 4 different charging sources and 6 different USB-A to USB-C cables.
3. Charged within 7-8 hours from a laptop (USB 2.0) - Does not help.
4. A week was without use - Does not help.
All of the above methods did not help. :frowning2:

The electronics repair service center was diagnosed through a special USB tester.
I was told that the headset takes current from charging (see photo), but the device's battery does not charge - this is a hardware problem.
:slight_frown:
The device can operate for less than 1 minute from the battery on the residual charge and turn off. This is a defective battery.

Still waiting for a response from the seller. Hope for warranty service.

Shanling devices (UP4, MW200) for some reason cannot work with PowerDelivery chargers and, accordingly, do not charge via cable TypeC to TypeC.

Definitely follow up for warranty repair with this Chinese seller on Aliexpress (it's not directly us at Shanling). Let me know if they would be in any way reluctant in warranty.

Unless the new firmware update added those features, it may not. I don't actually know. I have never drained mine to close to empty. I use it almost ever day for 10+ hours (I deliver) and recharge it before the next day. Had mine for over a year. There is plenty of room for improvement, but what it does do, it does well.

This would be a great feature for users who don't connect the MW200 directly to an iOS/Android device, but opt for a desktop BT transmitter, e.g. Fiio BTA30pro.

So, I retired my MW200 to when I ride my bike (sweat resistant). Shanling must not care too much about improving the MW200. Used it for work for nearly 2 years and everything works real well. Battery life lasts all day. Never ran it down to empty. Music, sound, etc, all as it was when I purchased it.

But... the Bluetooth started to go out of sync with movies. Not when you are watching, but at the beginning of a new movie. Netflix, YouTube, Apple TV, etc, all of them go out of sync, and I have to shut the MW200 down and restart. Then it gets back into sync-somewhat. I think it does not fully go back into sync. Sometimes, it looks, "off."

That's the problem. No upgrades to improve. In two years, only one firmware upgrade, but that was not focused on improving the MW200 or the application. I would like to see improvements to call quality, the sync issue, the problem of using only the stock cable to charge, and solving the OA upgrade problem for Apple users (If this is a hardware issue, then this cannot be solved. Then I wonder why use such a component). Plus, this headset is too good to not be intuitive, yet Shanling has not taken the time to improve the MW200 to work better with the devices it connects to, communicate better with the user, or upgrade the iOS application to increase functionality. I cannot believe that a device with such great components have not been developed to take advantage of its capabilities.

I switched to Air Pods Pro because it has transparency mode and noise cancelation. It is also highly intuitive with my devices. Grant that it has a battery limitation, but it charges fast and I can use my iPhone cable and third party cable in my car to charge. I will still use my MW200, but only when I go out on bike rides. Then again, I may gift it.

Shanling has to concentrate on improving the products they have made. Otherwise, their products become disposable, and in this competitive market, they may lose loyal customers to other manufacturers who will produce products that will last longer or can adapt to changing technologies before replacement-like myself.

@Shanling , last few days I am enjoying the mw200 after a less than satisfactory experience with the Ikko itb05 (terrible call quality).

I'm not able to connect to my one plus 9 pro via hwa ldhc, eliminating all other codecs on the mw200 makes it default to SBC, and choosing ldhc in the android Developer settings does nothing. I am running latest firmware and updates on both devices.

Is there a known issue with hwa ldhc or any way I can fix this. I would like to give this codec a try, ldac forced 900 kbs gives skips now and then. Any help or suggestions are appreciated

The LHDC variant on MW200 is of the first generation, while LHDC moved to newer versions. So MW200 compatibility is not 100% with all the LHDC sources.

Hi, thanks for the quick response.

Are there any hardware limitations why the latest HWA codec version (2.0?) can't be supported?

It seems that HWA implies in their press release that this should be possible, if so, is on the road map for the MW200 in a future firmware release?
