Shanling MTW100 - True Wireless IEMs, IPX7, BT5.0 Balanced armature or Dynamic driver

I just received the mtw100 and I have a problem with the pixel 3 charger, using the charger and the cable that comes with it (compatible for fast charging the pixel) the headphone box does not charge (no LEDs lights). I've tested with other chargers and cables without any problem.

Thank you!

Unfortunately there seems to be problems with PD chargers and our products, looking more into it.

@Shanling, is there a way to reset these things ?

Yes, take one of them from case (while you turn of BT on any paired smartphones, so they stay unconnected) and tap it 4 times. Repeat for other side.
It's written in manual.

Some questions to all (and @Shanling member - too). Read now, that my m2s didn't support AAC codec - only SBC and APTx. It's can be realised further? In newer firmwares for that player? Or it's not a "software" question and can't be realised at all? Will i have a difference in sound between my wired headphones, listening music with SBC, without AAC codec?
Sorry for some "silly" questions - it's my first tws.

Unfortunately yes, M2s only supports SBC and aptX, no way changing it.

There is audible difference between SBC and AAC, so we always recommend to use device with AAC.

Regarding difference to wired headphones, that can be quite big, since you are using not only completely different earphones, but also instead of advanced analog circuit in M2s, you are now putting all work just on small chip inside MTW100.

Hi, do you have recommendations for third party eartips or are the included ear tip sizes unique to mtw100?

I’m finding that all my other third party ear tips when attached to the mtw100, are too long to fit in the charging case and the case can’t close properly.

the charging case is really shallow.

Didn't see this asked but does this support multipoint?

No multipoint connection.

So far I was only able to find Fender/Aurisonics eartips are fitting kind of OK into case.

Anyone have the DD of these and can help provide some insight on how they are? Really close to pulling the trigger.
I felt the BA sounds a lot better.

The DD ones had better bass, but to me sounded harsh and sibilant in comparison. Ears got tired pretty quickly.
Chose the BA and think it’s a much better choice.

Took mine out for a bit of a splash in the pool today to test.

At no point was my head or my ears submerged in the water, but the earphones did get splashed.

After 15 minutes the left side became a lot softer and muffled. Right side was ok.

i reckon it could be that some water got in and so I waited for a few hours. Still the same. One side is still very muffled and softer.

Thought IPX7 could handle it getting splashed.

How's the bass on the BA? While I'm not a bass head, I appreciate a little thump for when I go to the gym.

Also, when in aware mode, can you tell me what the percentage is of music/audio vs ambient? What's the range of ambient it picks up?

Finally got them (BA version) ! Great balanced and intimate sound. A bit bass shy but the mids are very clear and the details, resolution, tonality and instrument seperation are great. Highs aren’t piercing.

Awareness mode is ok. Voices a few meters away can’t be picked up but other sounds come through. Enough to hear the surroundings but i haven’t tested it outdoors, only at home.

Try to blow into the mesh on the left channel. I experienced this after I was testing them (in glass of water for more than 10 minutes) and on one sound become quieter. I only needed to get all the water from the filter and the sound returned.

Any specific models to recommend?

Thanks. I left mine inside the box overnight and the sound recovered. Then I replaced the default, shallow earphones with 3rd-party earbuds that are slightly deeper. Hopefully they will keep water out better.
