I used a USB port from my laptop to charge the player. Using the phone charger, I no longer have this problem.

USB port on laptop is probably the weakest charging you can feed the M9. So yes, using such slow charge while using M9, it would be not able to charge.

It was replicated and reported to software team. For some reason it shows only on M9, even when M6U and M7 received same firmware update.

If I want to connect M9 to an external headphone amplifier, can I only use 3.5mm jack as the lineout?
Or can I use 4.4mm balanced jack too?
Because I have the 4.4mm jack on the player all the time, it's an inconvenience to have to swap jack's when using line out function.

Does your amplifier have balanced inputs? If so, you could use 4.4mm. But it's also best to check with amp manufacturer how will the balanced input behave without grounding.

It does have XLR balanced input.
I guess I can try that.

Just that only 3.5mm has (lineout) next to it in the operation manual.

How is the software stability at the moment on the M9? I was very disappointed with M30 software stability and gave up on Shanling for a while. Also anyone using Poweramp EQ and/Wavelet on M9?

No issues for me iro the M9. but no experience with the things you mention.

As for the M30, new FW still incrementally improving. New player module to be released this year iirc.
