I should be getting to demo the Odin soon and hopefully some day I'll get to hear the Thummim.

Maybe later this year we can work out a 10-day trade, I'm also working with Bill on AudioTiers, buy this Summer the tour kit may be available, and if not, and if MMR supports it, I'll send mine on Tour.

My Solaris SE was epic with the M8. Inky black background and a nice weight to the low end. I never tried Andro on it though.

Edit: Also Solaris isn't anywhere near as sensitive to OI as Andro is.

I have the Andromeda 2020. I haven't tried balanced with it, but I can use the Andro on turbo on 3.5mm with the M8

Would be interested if you could try balanced.
My experience with my Andro Golds is usually too lean lacking body and bass above 1 Ohm on other players...

I would but I don't have a balanced cable for IEMs unfortunately

Hi ,
I don't have much experience with DAPs, my question is how much a difference can the tuning make , DAP vs DAP . Can sibilance with a certain IEM be addressed ? I own the Fiio M15 and am interested in the M8.

Yes it absolutely can. Sabre boards tend to exaggerate it, for example. M8 tends not to have this problem...I don't have any experience with the M15.

Which IEMs do you find sibilant?

My IMR Semper is hard to drive and it exhibits some sibilance on brighter songs and bad recording unfortunately.
Even if it doesn't solve this , the m8 is still appealing to me from the descriptions.

Out of curiosity, I just compared my Andro v2 balanced out of DX228FE and M8. I think Amp8 is <1ohm OI. On quick A/B, I think I hear slightly less midbass and bass impact with M8. It's not something I would call lacking. I think I hear more details and nuance with M8. Perhaps it is helped by the warmth of M8. I don't listen to a lot of electronic bass, so take it with a grain of salt

Yep, thx
What's your Andros impedance?
Effect grows with lower IEM impedance.
My Andro Golds have 7! Ohm.
That's were the effect will be mostly more than subtle but that can be also a very specific Andromeda thing.
As I wrote before MEST will scale in the opposite direction from what I heard so M8 can be a great fit to give more bass and body potentially

It's rated at 12.8ohm so hard to compare...

Yep
I think there was some rule of like source impedance to be some percentage of the IEM impedance but I don't remember the exact value.
With almost 13 Ohm you could yet have an acceptable bass with around 1 Ohm or a bit higher whereas with my Andro Golds it's supposed to be at around 0,5 Ohm to have enough punch from my experience...
But others like @Rockwell75 have far more expensive with that I suppose...
