can you tell me the difference between M6 Pro and M8 in terms of sound signature and functionalities? I almost ready to buy and now I want to wait and see
When will M8 be available to purchase in America? Thanks

Final sound is not definitely set in place, there are still some possible tweaks happening with the amplifier circuit. But what I would personally say(so according to my ears), M8 sound signature is closer to the M6 and Shanling's house sound, compared to little bit more neutral leaning M6 Pro.

Difference between devices is mainly in sound quality. M8 also has better screen(5 inch 1080p) and we updated it to Qualcomm CSR8675 for BT, for improved both-way Bluetooth functions). And of course the new mechanism of headphone sockets.
Otherwise system is similar, based on same hardware, so you can expect the complete feature packages of M6/M6 Pro(USB DAC, digital transports, both way bluetooth, open Android, etc, etc).

We hope to have M8 on internationals markets during fall.

Really wondering about the price point.
Am I getting this right, Shanling basically started out with rather lower tiered / priced players and is slowly climbing into TOTL territory?

Every Chinese company is the same strategy starting low and cheap. After recognized brand slowly increasing prices, bringing small upgrade for amazing amounts

We started in late 80s and for many years we were focusing primarily on high-end 2channel audio. Our top line models were 5 000 USD per piece, with items like CD-T300 going for 7 000 USD. You can look up some review from these times.

Our first model for portable market was in 2014, original M3. But to be honest, we started taking it more seriously only in 2018, when we released our own platform with M0 and slowly started building it up from there.

@Shanling
Any idea why I cannot buy a device in Germany - M6 pro for example....not in stock....Shanling is not (really) present in Germany....
What are you doing in case of the latest model?

Availability of certain models in local markets is decided by the local distributor. I know German distributor got some M6 Pro, you can reach out directly to them regarding re-stock or if they can guide you to the seller that still have them in stock: https://nt-global.de/

You mean M6 and M8 are brighter than M6 pro?

My understanding is that Shanling's "house" sound is on the warm side, so the M8 would be less bright side of the M6 Pro, which I guess is now some target neutral. There are many ways to achieve warmness, so I won't speculate as to how they'll tune the M8. Not gonna lie, hearing this has made me reconsider my interest in the M8. If Shanling's chasing after euphony over some detail monster, I'm into it.

@PopZeus thank you, I find M6 PRO a bit warm, just a bit and in right way, compared to DX220 MAX that sound very neutral

Just goes to show you how subjective tuning can be. Everyone's idea of neutral is slightly different.

Opposite,M6 and M8 being slightly less "bright" than M6 Pro.

I hate these talks, since in few months somebody will compare and come back here claiming how we are deaf and they hear it exactly opposite :D
M8 will go out to the standard set of reviewers, who will be able to compare it to M6 and M6 Pro, then you will have more data points for this.

It's positive for certain apps.

Thank you @Shanling for your precious support, i undestand what you mean and i found different impressions about M6 pro, iven in top headfier review.
I agree with headfonics review that says:

"The first and foremost impression listening to M6 Pro on balanced output is its excellent dynamics and resolution with a slightly elevated lower midrange that offers plenty of punch and musicality.

From the powerful opamp+buffer configuration with the 4497 DAC chipsets, I was expecting a cleaner, cooler sounding presentation, but the M6 Pro sounded powerful in the mid-bass with a hint of warmth in the tuning. This tuning paired really well with some monitors that had a brighter tuning such as the Final A8000."
