How does M8 compare with cayin N6ii E02 or r1

Not sure if someone else in the thread still has that. But since you are in Singapore, the most effective might be to just pop by Jaben and have a listen for yourself.

And here it is! After going through all pages, finally chose this. It’s one big bulky DAP from Shanling!

I see several used M8s on the market and I am wondering, what people are doing. I still haven't heard about any better one ... on the musical level.
Maybe they all know something, that I don't know (...yes, I have seen, an M9 is on the way, but still).

I suspect it is a gamble that the M9 will sound just as good. Or perhaps the musical sonics are not as high a priority? Well I am still enjoying mine very much.

Maybe they want a DAP, that’s more fluid than M8 or they are waiting for M9 or they belong to a category of audiophiles who are very hard to get satisfied or they want a flat/neutral sound signature.

I use my M8 exclusively for streaming. I can’t say that there is anything of note for me.

One thing you should note, though, that even AK DAPs seem to face challenges with wifi etc. I recall that seems to be a common complaint in the Kann Alpha thread. Though for myself I don’t have much issues with wifi.

Mine is currently being replaced with a new one after warranty work, I've missed it horribly, and look forward to getting it back!!!

I also exclusively use it for streaming, with no issues at all w9th WiFi, zero drops.

Definitely you should look at getting one. It’s a wonderful DAP.
