Shanling M8 Android Portable player

I did another round of testing and installed UAPP on my FiiO M15. Scanning of the 1TB card (unchanged content) took long as well - maybe 2 hours.
But afterwards everything was in perfect condition. Browsing, Restarting, tags read correctly.
So for me this is clearly a problem of the M8 not being able to correctly work with my 1TB card.
The UAPP developer (very supportive) is releaved now ...
Contacted @Shanling about the case. Let's see if the support there is as good:xf_cool:
Does UAPP play DSD natively in M8 ? I think it has been left behind for so many recent players now

How can you tell? I would think it would given my understanding of how bit perfect works.

What format are you using on your SD card? FAT32 formatted 1TB SD works perfectly on my M8. I tested another 1TB SD formatted in exFAT (default on many large capacity SDs) and could reproduce your problem. So I think the most likely cause is the format.

It displays whether the file is playing back at resampled rate of PCM 44.1...., or 2.8M rate when using it

Looks like it works :) IMG_3325.JPG

How are you liking the M8/Ely combo?

All the info is right there I don't see anything in the drop down bar. Can you tell from this here whether it's been resampled or not?
I get the same - looks to me like DoP (DSD over PCM) chopped into 16 or 24 bit strings at 352.8 kHz. I play DSD through my Gustard A18 DAC this way... So DSD and not resampled, per se.

Thank you! So there is hope.
Mine was indeed in exFat. So I reformated and I am just copying everything back again. Guess tomorrow I can tell the results.

So I've been puzzled by this too since joining the UAPP camp. On the top, by the battery indicator, I see 352.8kHz. I expected 11.2MHz or DSD indicator there. This is the same whether I have bit perfect on or off. Are you saying that the system still sees this as 352.kHz but the DAC is interpreting it as DSD stream?

Is that why I also get stuttering when bit perfect is on?

I remember that Shanling said only Shanling player can play DSD files natively. All the other apps will need to convert them to PCM first. I believe that the situation applies to UAPP as well.

Neutron should be able to play dsd natively. I am just saying that Neutron is the real hi-res supporter here. UAPP is more like for smartphone stuff lol
