recently received a player. impressions are mixed. For example, there are minor flaws in the system. when switching in the blind to LO, a warning window appears where M6 is written instead of M7. in many places I met the word "phone", although you hold DAP in your hands. one more moment. I connect my Sennheiser hd300 pro (60 ohm) to 3.5 audio output. in the blind I choose Medium Gain. after 30 minutes of listening, the player becomes very hot. Feels like 43-45 degrees. if you use 32 ohm headphones through a 4.4 output, there is no such heating.

Please what language are you running on your M7? For example in line-out switch I don't see any mention of M6 in English. It's possible the issue is due to translation.
Yes, M7 can run quite warm, especially as the sides are used as part of the cooling system.

set the system language to Russian in the settings. if you open the curtain and press LO, a message will appear in English (not translated). Then go to settings - audio. and now switch to LO here. a message appears in Russian, indicating M6

i have had the m7 for over a month now and i have ran it for over 150 hours . i just want to say this is one of the best sounding dap i have heard for the money and size i can get. also zero noise floor from what i have heard with all my iems on all 3 gains setting. no interference from wifi streaming. plenty of power and sounds very good for my taste.
cant believe there are so little discussion here on this thread .
you did a great job on the m7, Shanling team.

I bought a silicone case for m7 on Aliexpress. I already doubt whether it is worth using it. The player gets very hot. The case may interfere with heat dissipation. you can overheat the player. what say friends?

I just got the M7 two days ago. Came along with the leather case, which I thought was very cleverly designed to dissipate the heat rather effectively
M7 gets warm after around an hour of use but does not get hot for me

The more I listen to music on my M7, the more I appreciate what a wonderful sound it produces.
Just listening to my Effect Audio Axiom (black module)....just brilliant. Highly resolving, yet not clinical, but rather, beautifully melodic.

I would stick with the Shanling case. It protects enough of M7 yet still allows heat dissipation with ease
