I have a recommendation for all owners of the M7. For extended listening sessions, you need a cell phone cooling unit, designed for gaming. At high gain, the unit gets uncomfortably hot. Not hot enough to burn, but close . This is very bad for high end audio electronics. The cooler incorporates a peltier device and a small fan. Powered by USB C or the included battery pack.
It brings the unit from 35 C to 11 C worth the bother and $34

Nice update, especially that it fixing the issue while playing music and pushing the power button or receiving a screen message that the volume was fall of for a quite short period

By the way did you also made (slight) changes to the sound signature (perhaps only sort of irritation since today was not really a great day for me) and what is the standard digitalfilter setting of the M7 ?

No, we never make any changes to sound with firmware updates. Even if sometimes people report such experiences.
