Besides the EQ, there are still some minor bugs like no resume after turning off, update musics issue.. Are you still working for another FW update? Thank you.
Some characters still not displayed correctly, for example in spain, german.
Swedish too.

While I am still enjoying m M5s i wish that Shanling would update a resolve some of the firmware problems identified by this thread
Having owned all of the releases other than the M0 and now M6 i still have the m5 and m5s which both sound great
One example - when i purchased the M5s it was claimed by shanling earlier in thread and originally on web site (now removed) to have a data base limit of 41000 songs which is one of the reasons i purchased the player (as i like to have all my music on one card and playing shuffle) - which while it can scan this number you can not play from "all songs" this number in the data base as it just freezes the player - which a number of members have commented on in this an other forums
The limit appears to be around 20,000 songs in data base which will play from "all songs"
Despite a number of requests to get this resolved nothing has been done - just that it is being looked at which has been months and months
Can shanling confirm if this will ever or can be fixed

Unfortunately these are limitations due to memory/processing power. We set it originally at 40k files, because that worked fine in album/artist browsing. But was adjusted to 20k due to the problems when accessing all songs at once.
We are still trying to optimize system more for these higher amount of files, but not sure what will be outcome of this.

@Shanling , I have just updated the new FW 3.4. Everything seems to be nice but EQ. It is ok without EQ. The EQ-ed sound is not distorted but it is cut off in the all the frequencies. The volume gain is too weak and the sound is much less dynamic than fw 3.3 with my Klipsch HP 3! I have to go back to FW 3 3!

1. Added ReplayGain function. Go to Playback menu to enable.
2. Added Playlist Import / Export function.
Notes:
- Works with .m3u playlist files.
- Playlists will be exported into “_explaylist_data” folder in root folder of Micro SD card.
- To import user created playlists, put .m3u file into “_explaylist_data” folder in root folder of Micro SD card and click “Import playlists” in Playlist menu.
- We recommend to export one playlist from your M5s and follow its formatting for user created playlists.
3. Added quality settings into Tidal app.

5. Album cover and lyrics can be downloaded from internet and added to currently played file.

Thanks for the update and continuous improvement to the software. I just hope future new players from Shanling use the same MTouch system so new features are not abandon as they happen with most players as time goes on.
I like the new features but I have a question regarding to the cover art.
It appears that you can pick out cover art which is nice but It seems like its track specific and not globally album specific.
1. Is there a way to apply the cover to the entire album.
2. When the cover is attached to a tack is it a file that is embedded and if so if I switch brands to a different player in the future will the cover art transfer over.

so if i want to insert album art in a certain track, what should i do to make it happen?

From my experience its simple. You just go to the desired track. With a single tap on the screen you will see various icons like the plus sign, trash can, play back and the new one which is album art.
Click on the album art icon and you will be taken to another screen where it will load from the internet various album art. Choose the album art that represents the track and it will then be associated with that track.
What the MTouch does is make another directory folder that stores all of the album art and associates it with the specific tracks. I think this is really nice but it falls short.
In my opinion the best way to do this is to imbed the jpeg in the albums root directory. Actually it would just be better to have the option to save the jpeg in the actual album file this way if you take your card out and use it in another player it will work and would be a great way to add missing album art on the fly.
I have found a long work around for this and that is to connect to the wireless file transfer and download the Jpeg and then reload it back into the album root directory.
I think adding another file folder just for album art for specific tracks is just more unnecessary clutter.
@Shanling last night i've been listening to my M5S with new 3.4 Firmware. Im not the kind of guy who hates change and always open to any new change in trend, in fact i've never been downgrade my gadget firmware in my whole life either it is smart phone or even player. However with the current updates i'll have to sadly downgrade the firmware for the first time in my life. the thing is, the new EQ system although it solve the distortion problem due to extreme EQ setup, it also altered the sound and reduce the volume around 20%. i could still close my eyes using my setup at 70% volume and gradually heated device because of high volume use, what i can't tolerate is the sound feels smoothed thus makes the sound less physical. it's really sad actually, i do really love every other updates other than the EQ system especially the threshold for lowest brightest because i like to use my player during the dark.
The most ironical thing is im one of the active members who push Shanling to fix their EQ system, now after they actually do something about the EQ after a year, i just dont like their solution to EQ. I do really sorry, but I really wish the EQ system could get better. I mean this player is more expensive than my monthly wage lol.. that's why it really mean something to me
