ZX300 is about ... 110 usd more expensive than Shanling M5s in Vietnam. So what is your final decision ? R6 is running android which wastes a lot of processing power for the useless stuffs. It is also more expensive ( maybe because of the required RAM, CPU for android 8 bla bla bla....)
that's the normal price just like in another country. I haven't decided what to choose, think i'm going to stay in this thread for a while until im settled lol

Oki, waiting sometimes also means being happy:smirk:... What is your portable music player now? A DAP or smartphone ? If you are upgrading from any below 500 USD DAPs to Shanling M5s, I would say you will be more than happy ...

BTW, I have just read in the Hiby R6 thread, many people seem to have some problems with Android FW updates

Android is the most flexible and complicated OS out there, it's very difficult to keep it stable.

Received this about 1 week ago and love everything about it! One thing I did notice was battery drain when the player is off? Fully charged it then left it off. Went to turn it on and noticed the battery went down to 97%. Anyone else have this issue? I'm on ver. 2.0.

Clearly you have never before owned a device with a rechargeable battery. They are much better than they used to be but they still all lose charge over time.

what do you think about pairing the M5S with Mojo (or other same-level similar portable dac/amp)

1.- Mojo is a 600 $US dedicated Dac/Amp... of course it improves the sound compared to the direct out of M5S
2.- Mojo is a side-grade for the M5s
3.- Mojo is a sidegrade compared to the balanced out of M5s
4.- Mojo is an upgrade compared to SE of M5s, but a downgrade to the balanced out
5.- Mojo is equivalent to the SE of M5s
6.- M5s doesn't need Mojo, as is ok, or superior, without it

I had Cayin N3 and for using with Beyer's Amiron Home I used with Mojo... now Im wondering if it worth the mojo with the M5s

what do you think?

I think the M5s is in the same class as the mojo and pairing them together isn't likely to gain much. To me, that combo is an expensive side-grade rather than really improving on either the DAC or amp already in the M5s. If I were going to pair anything with the M5s it would be something like the iFi xCAN, the Xduoo XD-05, or the iBasso PB3 so I had a more potent output section for running high impedance full sized headphones.

But the mojo is far superior (and more powerful) than the PB3 and the xd-05

I have mojo and xd-05 and there is a lot of difference between them (mojo superior)

it has been awhile since I played with the mojo but, I didnt think it had enough power to really handle my Beyer's (600 Ohm) or HD650s at 300 Ohms. To me the Mojo did its best work when paired with 150 Ohm or less headphones which was a lot of the reason I didn't keep it around. If you are running it using low impedance IEMs, I can see where it would be superior to those I mentioned.

I cant use iems... I cant put anything inside my ear so I just use headphones

I just have the amiron, 250 ohms. But may you are right and I just following the hype with the Mojo. I do believe that, compared with XD-05 mojo sounded better (for me, in the Amiron). But coming back to the M5s topic, I appreciate your answer and I will be comparing the option M5s with/without mojo... hopefully will be getting the same conclusion, just a sidegrade ;)

Same. Mojo and the HD6xx was a no go for me as well, and the Mojo got sold.
