Isn't the ak4493 in this better all around than the ak4495 in the dx120?

Dx120 seems to only have a single DAC too....

If the price is similar I think this wins on the spec sheet... Wish I could get both....

That seems kind of high. I thought this is competing with the Hiby R3? My hope is $299 ish ..

I am GLAD this does not use Hiby OS .. that platform is a dead end for me, and should be for others who don't want their DAP to be dependent on an application on their phone for any advanced function.

I don't see that being the case, I mean between the M0 at $110.00 US and M5S you have the M1, M2S and M3s. If you price the M5S at $299.00 that leaves no room for the other models price wise. The M3S is $279.00 US and the M2S $199.00 right now so how could they possibly price a higher end model only $20.00 higher than the M3S? Based on current pricing I would guess around $399.00 US would be more realistic.

I'm after the DX120. I want and prefer the no frills, straight up wire attached music listening device. I am however also curious about the single dac chip. Does anyone know if has crystal oscillators? The DX120 is also a man child when it comes to power, especially out of the balanced output. Not getting my hopes up though if it's not going to be readily available across the globe.

at $500 to $600, people will go for some other daps like the hiby r6 or ibasso dx150 and this will sell much less.

Why? If the sq of m5s will be better than r6 and on pair with stock dx150 I’d prefer m5s
(I’ve owned hiby r6 and the owner of dx150)

that nobody knows yet as the reviews are not out plus both of the daps are android based and the ibasso dap has the added benefit of using amp cards, so people will get more customisability from the other daps

1. Lot of people prefer non-android system(with ldac and AirPlay me too)
2. Each amp costs 200$ more. So the price is not 500$, but 700-900-...
Don’t forget about dimensions and weight of dx150. It is not superportable
But for its sound signature with AMP8 I accept it. But I’m looking...
