No offense to the M3s, which is indeed marvelous, but I consider the Opus#1 to be on another tier. There was a time when it sold for nearly $600, and I felt that was a fair price. Now a days it's a true steal.

That's what happens when a device comes to the end of its run. The prices get super low. The Opus#1 has been around for a while and seen a number of significant price drops.

On the other hand, the M3s does more things than the Opus, and, if I'm not mistaken, has more driving power. So it's also quite the bargain.

Will the Opus do spotify streaming or bluetooth streaming? I can at least bluetooth stream to the m3s, albeit with lag (even though the other bluetooth dac's out there such as the new centrance blue dac or even the plussound bluetooth cable doesn't). I think I would've bought the bluetooth cable if I knew

No it does not. No apps. No wifi. No Bluetooth. Just plays music files off internal storage and microSD cards.

That's what I mean by the M3s does quite a lot more.

I just pulled the trigger on the M3s with a case. Looking forward to it and it’s integrattion with HiByMusic link on my phone. Now I won’t have to get off my couch when it’s plugged into my stereo. Also just love the design. Shanling is just doing great things these days. Hopefully it’s as petite as it looks in pictures. Can’t stand a bulky dap anymore, gonna get rid of my Aune M1s and replace it with this. I hated that dap, it is so frustrating.

What drivers is everyone/anyone using for Windows 10 USB DAC functionality? The drivers off the shanling site are giving a error 10 "can't start error", after being installed and are from 2015.

Do those drivers only work.for windows 7amd 8.1?

Uninstall driver, disable driver signature enforcement (Google), restart. And try to install driver.

I guess it is a good problem to have.... to much choice

My main concerns are sound quality and the ability to perhaps integrate with my main system..... reviews seems solid for all 3 (Opus, Shanling & Cayin)..

I didnt try none of them, but according to reviews m3s is on a higher level than cayi n3

It's just an ok deal. The Bass version of the IEM is just as good sound wise, IMO. I would rather look for a deal on the DAP and buy the bass IEM.

You need Balanced cables, so they terminate in 2.5mm and they are Balanced from the factory

Not a good idea it could cause damage to the amp

Loved your review! Any chance you could ask @Shanling if they plan to make the balanced out a true Line Out or if that’s even possible? Just curious because I’ve already ordered it anyways. I have one amp that could benefit from that.
