It's more pause play/restart...or sometimes when going from a folder containing 16/44, to one containing 24/192 it will click. I am not exactly sure what the click, maybe it's an internal power switch? It's not audible through the headphones, so that's good.
Yeah I had the same clicking sound. At first I thought the wheel had something broken and then realized it happened while I changed tracks

The clicking is just relays firing when the circuit needs to change course. It's all due to state changes, such as going from one song at 16/44 to another at 24/192. It happens when the device goes into standby, and when it comes out. It does it for pretty much ever state change.

It's nothing to be concerned with. :wink:

It's the relays. They're loud; it was definitely disconcerting at first. I generally don't notice it now, but it would probably bother me if I listened to playlists that contained multiple sample rates and it had to keep switching.

Player hung again this morning. This is when the player goes to sleep.. and shutdown.

Obviously not but i want to test something else. :D
Personally, I would give it some time and test the gear you just received. Listen to it stock and then decide if you want to test something else.
