Shanling M3
Apr 19, 2016 at 9:07 PM Post #406 of 567
0.14 Ohm males much more sense. I've never heard any negative impact on multi-BA IEM when using M3 like I have with DAPs that truly have high output impedance.

How about the M2 & M5 @Shanling?

Under the new standard(the common one for DAP), M5 is 0.18 Ohm and M2 is 4.7 Ohm. There is a 4.7 Ohm resistance in the M2 circuit.

The driver provided on our website can work in win10. What is your problem encountered? Fail to install or something else?

Can you please share me the link?

I have downloaded the driver from your website, but each time it failed to install. If I try manually to install it then it complains about missing hash in driver files.

I have downloaded this one : http://www.shanling.com/download/List#modal

This is due to the safety control of Win10. We can install the driver through changing the Windows settings. Here are the steps-please forgive me that my system is displaying in Chinese and some or my wording are not exactly the same with your system, I wish you could understand and find the correct items.

1.  Enter settings in the start menu
2.  Enter the last item, update and safety
3.  Enter recovery
4.  Select Immediate Reboot under Advanced Reboot
5.  Windows will be reboot, and you see a blue screen and some items.
6.  Click Troubleshooting
7.  Click Advanced Settings
8.  Click Booting Settings
9.  Cancel the compulsory driver signature requirement, and reboot

Then you can install the driver.

Thanks for supporting Shanling.

Hello Shanling,

We shouldn't have to lower the security level on our PC to install a driver.

If we have to disable driver signature check then this means this driver is not compatible with Windows 10 drivers requirements.

Can you please provide us an updated driver that is fully Windows 10 compatible?

What you said is correct. But the fact is that the USB driver and the USB module is not developed by Shanling-it is provided by supplier. We are not able to improve the driver from our side.

However we are continuously communicating to push the driver update.

Thanks for the understanding.

Thank you for your reply, it is much appreciated.

Do the drivers came from this company?

Yes it is.

Thank you.

I can see a new driver seems to be available for Windows 10 :
http://www.thesycon.de/eng/usb_audiodriver.shtml

Version is 3.34 on their website but the version you provide to us is only 1.61

Could you please explain us why new version is not available for Shanling customers?

PS: no offense here, but I love my M3 so much I'm very concerned about not being able to use it as an USB DAC.
Please help us! And thank you again for your great support and to take time to answer me.

Best regards.

Dear Judge584,

Thank you for your study.

The platform of our DAP-as well as some other Chinese DAP-is developed by a software developer, who combined some excellent software solutions and created. Of course, the thesycon driver is included.

This means, when this platform is developed on the basis of a low version thesycon driver, we cannot use the higher version for the products.

It is kinda an limitation.

Then it is unfortunately a major problem for me.

I have bought my M3 to have an excellent DAP that can also be used as an external USB DAC.

Finally I ended with an excellent DAP and I'm really loving it but I cannot use it as a DAC. Having paid 340€ for my M3 it is quiet hard to swallow.

So I now have to sell it ( which means loosing money ) and will not be able to choose a Shanling device because of this reason ( even the M5 is incompatible with Windows 10 ).

Well, it is a bad day for me :
I have now to go back to the long process of finding a good DAP :frowning2:

Edit: but of course I will be more than happy if you're able to tell us when a driver update will be available.
It makes me very sad to be forced to sell my M3 :frowning2:
I would really like to be able to keep it.
