Shanling M3 Plus - New Midrange Android Portable Player at $469

Does anyone else have this problem or just me?

Sometimes the device stops or doesn't output audio, even though the volume wheel shows that it's playing( I see a blue colour)and next to the volume number it shows a kHz number as if it is playing something even though I have closed everything. I've already tried other music player apps. The only thing that helps is restarting the device, but sometimes it takes 2 or 3 tries... it's super annoying.

I also read a comment from a user on AliExpress saying that this defect happens to him too.

Maybe my M3 Plus has a manufacturing defect.

Does it have the Google Playstore and can you install every Android app?

I have not used it alot but i have not had this problem, well when i used spotify and i changed the track the audio cut out, and all i had to do was to change the track and the audio was back.not a big deal as you are experiencing but i am going to test it more to see if this is the case and i can replicate your problem.

Btw i am in love with the audio from this one, its just my kind of sound.
Now i am officially a Shanling fan and like this house sound.

Thanks, sometimes this happens again when I leave the device for a few hours and then when I try to listen to it there's no more output audio.

How does Shanling usually handle firmware updates for their daps?
They usually post a heads-up here in head-fi in the appropriate DAP threads and provide a link. You can also check in your DAP's settings and it will be available there too to update OTA. I often find it's faster using the provided link than in-DAP updates. The official Shanling website will also provide the download link in the downloads section.

EDIT: Plus they'll post it to their Shanling Twitter/X feed.

Which firmware version are you running and which output?

Does it happen when changing apps or during playback in one app? And which app?

Thanks por asking.
I'm running the last firmware 1.18.

When I turn on the device, there’s no problem with either of the two audio outputs.
The issue occurs when I leave the device aside for a few hours (without turning it off), and when I try to play any song again, there’s no audio output from either the 3.5mm or 4.4mm jack, and in any app. However, as I mentioned in my first comment, it shows as if it’s playing a file. I was fixing this by restarting the player.

I’m not sure if this is a bug or a defect, but I’ll try doing a factory reset and installing the new firmware that was just released today.

I knew I wasn't the only one experiencing this kind of error. It must be a bug or something, but not all devices have it.
