Here's a video I shot this afternoon showing how the M3 UI works. It's a bit rough but you'll get the basics of UI navigation.
I actually like the UI quite a bit after getting used to it![]()

Enticing... just don't get the tour too big or it'll never reach me![]()
I'm limiting it to 5-10 headers, so you should get it in a month or two![]()
Hi, Nikolaus -
Yesterday I sent you a private message about my interest in the tour. Have you read it? Please let me know.
Thanks,
Brian
Really looking forward to getting the boys in bed and chilling out with the M3 + T20 tonight...
Prepping for some comparative listening tomorrow. I used the Decibel 10th app and a jig to volume match the T20 with some IEM I'm interested in comparing them to using a 1k Test Tone on the Shanling M3 DAP on the Low Gain Setting. Here's what I got:
RHA T20 @ volume 16 = 78dB
RHA MA750 @ volume 11 = 78dB
Dunu DN-1000 @ volume 13 = 78dB
TPEOS Altone200 @ volume 12 = 77dB
TPEOS Altone200 @ volume 13 = 79dB
As you can see, the T20 are a wee bit harder to drive than the competition.
For reference, the Shanling has 60 volume steps.
I'm using jig loosely.
Jig = A device that holds a piece of work and guides the tools operating on it.
In this case, I secured a straw over the bottom microphone on my iPhone to act as a sound tube. I them opened the Decibel 10th app, pushed the IEM nozzle securely into the opening, and dialed the M3's volume until I matched volume with the 1k tone. Not as precise as a dedicated SPL meter, but good enough for my purposes and more "scientific" than matching by ear![]()
