Shanling M2 DAP

My M2 is from 2016 and now it's bricked after I tried reinstalling 3.0 all it does is say "upgrading" and then "upgrade file is corrupt" over and over again.  What a lousy product.  I have barely used it!

I would suggest hooking it up to a computer via USB.  That seems to temporarily unbrick the unit.  I would copy an older firmware (NOT 3.0) onto the flash card and reinstall the firmware again.

I do think firmware 3.0 is basically broken on many units.

@Shanling; do you plan on releasing a firmware 3.1 that fixes these issues?  I have already tried the workarounds and they do not work for very long.

I am back at firmware 2.1 and that is more stable, at least for now.

It is bricked.  Hooking it up to the computer does no good.

My machine seemed to be bricked but did respond to being hooked up by USB.  I suppose there are multiple types of bricking with this unit.

Sometimes electronics have a panic mode.  In that mode you can force the units into reinstalling firmware.   @Shanling, is there a mode like that on this unit?  If so, how would it be accessed?

Put the fw file on the SD root. Hold Play then power it on.

Thanks, @theMUKe
 !!

So, what are the differences in the firmware for the M2?

In terms of the changelog from the Shanling website, version 3.1 has:
1、repairtheM2version3.0automaticallysuspendedproblems
2、adddeleterecentplayaplaylistfunction

In terms of sonic differences I noticed a change from 1.1 to 2.0.
1.0 and 1.1 sounded somewhat analog (in a good, interesting way). 2.0 and 2.1 are more detailed. Well, and since 3.0 you can set the filter option.
