Shanling M1s - Ideal Compact Portable Player

I have bought both latest Hiby R3 II and Shanling M1S ( For Similar Price Range and Size ).

My first impression is that it will be perfect if
Hiby's Design ( Easy for holding and control )
Shanling's Tuning ( Although not so warm but I like it )
Ingenic X2000 ( For smoother control )
And better to have higher resolution

I look forward to seeing more compact DAPs in the future.
I wasn't aware that the Hiby R3 II had been released yet but from your criteria it looks like a win for Shanling. Not sure why Hiby would release a new device using the old x1000. Very odd decision.

Yes.
With X1000 and Low Resolution, the experience on Hiby is not that comfortable.
Although the shape is user-friendly and the MSEB is quite interesting.

@Shanling The Kingston sd card is working fine so far. I put the Samsung into the tablet and it works too. I have two more questions. Will bluetooth issues be fixed? Because I don't know whether to file a complaint about the device. Or sell. I would prefer to continue using the device because I like the sound quality. But these software bugs are discouraging. Second question. Would it be possible to add an application for listening to audiobooks? You could actually copy the music player app. Reading files from a separate folder that would not be taken into account when scanning music.

There is firmware update coming for M1s this week or early next, you can test that one out if it solves your Bluetooth issues.

We asked software team to implement further support for audiobooks, but so far have no details if it can be done.

@Shanling I've bought the M1S last week and it's a great small DAP - everything is really matching my expectations, but there is one flaw - I've read, that the database limit for the library is 20.000 (or even 15.000) tracks? Unfortunately this is a "no go" for me, because my I have a music library of ca. 30+ thousand tracks (didn't tested it yet, now using a SD Card with 12.000 tracks on it). I've read in the earlier posts, that using the folders it is not limited, but this is not what I need - I often don't listen to single albums, but have everything on shuffle, all tracks, so if I understand this correctly, this doesn't solve my issue here. Is there any chance a firmware update could disable that limit or make it higher, maybe 40.000? I know this will make the interface slower, but I think every user should have the choice - slower UI oraz database limit. Maybe this could be an additional option in the settings?

Unfortunately not likely to change this, our software team is set on this limit.

That's a bummer... Love that small DAP, but if this change is not possible, have to return it and search for something different. I've read somewhere in other thread, that the smaller and cheaper M0 Pro has a limit of 40.000 songs. That's somewhat strange, when a cheaper DAP has a higher limit, but OK. Could be an alternative, but unfortunately doesn't have 4,4 mm balanced output, so I need to look somwhere else, and I thought my search was over.

There is an optional 4.4mm adapter for the M0 Pro.

M0 Pro has the same 20 000 files limit.

If you want higher amount of files, you would have to go with one of our Android machines.

Yeah, I know, but this is an additional adapter. And according to

this doesn't matter anyway, thanks for the clarification.
So does this mean, that every Android DAP does not have this limitation?

Android DAPs have no limitation on the library size.

I didn't know about the 20,000 track limit. For me, I have 19,744 total tracks in my library. I have 2 x 1TB Sandisk SD cards (Cant get all of them on one card), so, I guess I will never hit the limit due to the SD card size limitations.
