Introducing Shanling M1s

M1 was our first truly compact portable player, released back in 2016. Later came the Q1, with its retro-styled design, so different from our classic players. And the line was topped by the M5s, the best sounding and most feature-rich MTouch player.

Shanling M1s takes the best aspects of these models and combines them into one, making for an ideal mid-sized MTouch portable player.

Updated MTouch system gets all the extra features from the M5s, including Wi-Fi connection and streaming capabilities, it even adapts a similar UI design. But this time powered by a more advanced Ingenic X2000 platform, opening space for future software development.

Audio section also follows in the steps of M5s, opting for a more complex circuit, with a high-performance ESS ES9038Q2M DAC, in-house developed FPGA technology and dedicated headphone amplifiers. Allowing for a high-powered balanced 4.4mm output, alongside the standard 3.5mm.

All of it packed into a Q1-sized body, based around 2.8-inch touch screen, nicely balancing compact size with usability. And featuring our latest body design, inspired by M3X and M8 Android players, with a new addition of front-facing playback buttons.

When all put together, M1s comes as our most featured and best sounding MTouch player, while staying true to its heritage of compact design

Buttons on the front panel? I wonder how easy will they be to use, especially with DAP inside the pocket.
I would prefer a bigger screen with buttons on the side.

Me too, it looks 'off' to me. I would have preferred the same screen aspect as original M1. Still, a lot in a little package. Hopefully will have more streaming services than tidal. That would give it advantage over hiby r3 saber. I like the 4.4 output though, I'm assuming it's got dual op amps for true balanced.

Will keep an eye on this for sure, but those buttons..... lol

Would this allow android play store, or it will come with the apps like Tidal, Amazon etc?
Would it have enough storage for offline play?
Like download music from tidal and then get on the Plains and play the music.
Will it come with a micro SD card?

Just Tidal for now, so no play store. Not sure about the others but I'm 99% sure it doesn't come with a micro sd card.

This will run on Shanling's MTouch OS, so no Android, just a built in Tidal app that will only allow online streaming, no downloading for offline playback. If you want Android for downloading apps and offline downloads, you will have to get the M3Ultra which is their newest smallest Android device.

It will most likely have a micro-SD card slot, but will not come with the card itself.

What the heck is M3 Ultra? Is it new? I didn't really like design of M3X myself.

We want to make the screen able to flip, so you could change if the volume will be on left or right.

MicroSD card slot and USB-C connectors are on the opposite side.

It runs our MTouch system, simplified closed platform.
No on-board storage, just MicroSD card slot.
No, it will not come with MicroSD card.

whats the max size of micor sd can it store i also wonder whats the OS gonne be like?

2TB in theory.
It's using our MTouch system, will be similar UI to our M2X/M5s.
