I don't think so. If fact I deleted my old LG phone before trying to pair the Xiaomi. Currently I only have two devices paired. My AKG headphones and a pair of IEMs I use for jogging.
I think this was the device...try having the M1 actually playing a song when you try to connect to the player (not static or on pause). Helps with connection.

Thank you for your help. I tried it and it didn't work.
Another test I did, was to switch off the Hiby compatibility and in this case, I can pair the M1 with the phone, but the M1 is blocked with a bluetooth icon on the screen and the message "press return to exit" No response to other commands until I pressed the left upper button which disconnected the phone.

HI everybody. I have a Shanling M1, working perfectly since it was released (now with fw 4.6) Recently I paired it with a pair of AKG NC60N I bought for travelling, and they make a perfect match.
The problem is I also changed my mobile phone from LG to Xiaomi and when I try to pair the M1 with the Xiaomi (Redmi Note 7 pro) I'm not able to connect for using the HiBy Music App.
Did some of you have a similar experience? I tried to pair the M1 with three diferent Xiaomi phones and the result was the same. No success.
I also use a Hydizs AP80 and have paired it with my Huawei phone for using HiBy, without any problem.
Thank you for your replies if you have some idea on how to solve this issue.

You mention your Hidizs work with Huawei phone, does M1 work with that one? Is the problem limited only to Xiaomi phones?

Unfortunately we are not developer of the HiBy app, so you would need to reach out to them with such question.

Your M1 entered Bluetooth receiver mode, when you can use it to listen to music from your phone.

I'm thinking I'm doing something wrong. Now I can't pair with the Huawei. The phone asks me to be sure of the bluetooth code to pair and when I accept, the M1 states "Connection Failed"
I tried to pair from the phone and pairing from the M1 and none of the systems worked. I even tried to reset M1 to factory setting before pairing. By the way, no problem pairing with the headphones

Tested with my Huawei phone and it pairs with my M1 just fine. Strange.

Can you make sure Shanling is deleted from previously paired devices on your phone?

So I'm guessing Shanling isn't making a new gen of M1 because between M0 (100$) and M2s (200$) there's just not enough profit to make.

You never know

Hi, I'm using the M1 with the Chord Mojo which is a superb pairing. I'm testing out Hiby Link on my LG V30 to the M1 and it's working just fine apart from the fact that I don't see album art on my phone within the Hiby App. Should the Hiby app on my phone fetch the album covers from the M1? I have album art embedded in the FLAC files.
Help appreciated.

I'm now having problems with the Hiby app. It used to work fine. I haven't used it for ages until today when I used the app (it has been update since I last used it) and I get the message "unknown remote device" when I connect.

Rebooted the phone and it works now.

Update: Spoke too soon. Came to use it again and it no longer even finds the M1. Bluetooth is such a flakey architecture. Best to keep things as simple as possible with Bluetooth so I'll just stick with the M1 for controlling the music.

If you're using Android, try downloading an old version of HibyMusic from Apkpure. This is the only solution I can think. Shanling can't do anything about Hiby anymore.

Here's another vote for audiobook / podcast support.

It needs to remember where I left off. Not just on one track but any track that has been played. Like on VLC media player. VLC Media Player asks you the following if a file's been played before: play it from the top or continue where left off? Bookmarks seem like a messy and slow solution. Feel free to correct me on this.

Also going backwards and forwards within a track should be easy. Some audiobooks are just 1 file that 18 hours long.

And M4B support. When buying a new device I don't want to have to worry about it not supporting this file type. It's a deal breaker plain and simple. I'm buying a new device for convenience. I don't want to have to spend time converting stuff. It should just work.

Thanks for your consideration to this Shanling.

Edit: How wonderful would this be?

For audiobooks the original Sansa Fuze is hard to beat. It has an ingenious auto-bookmarking scheme. Any file in folders named 'Audiobooks' or 'Podcast' are automatically bookmarked on exit. On the next play of that file a pop-up box asks if you want to resume from last point or start from the beginning. These folders can be in either main memory or on a memory card. In addition, any file with an ID3 tag of Audiobook or Podcast will be treated the same regardless of what folder it is in.

Plus add M4B support and I'm your customer. ; )
