Thanks for the feedback. Powerwise I do not have any really demanding headphones when on the go so that wouldn't be an issue.

If they are similar soundwise I guess I'll go with the Shanling M1 which is cuter with its small footprint.

Maybe not similar sound, but level of SQ. N3 has bigger bass impact and I think sligthly wide soundstage, when M1 has better low frequencies control and better vocals quality. But both DAPs are great.

I mean addin to "Now Playing" or something. I can create some playlist and add songs during playing, but still only single songs are possible.adding album/whole folder would be perfect.

Well, l can only hope HiBy will decide to implement it in future firmware. So far you can only use it via HiBy link app.

Thanks for your answer ! battery life may be too short for a few months backpacking trip. Too bad compared to the little size of the m1. My cowon D2 could last more than 30 hours for a similar size...

It always depends on what you aim when designing the player...

@Shanling can you please confirm this, it has been since november that i have fw1.1 on my M1.

Yes, cloning tool works for M1 too.

What other changes? Does it have all the new hibymusic stuff? What does the standby mode do? Why don't you release a changelog when you release new firmware?

We release changelogs, it's also included in instruction file in the firmware. For 4.0 firmware, only change was implementing of standy by mode.

What exactly you mean by "all the new HiBymusic stuff"?

Standy by mode allows device to go into deep sleep/hybernation mode, where it consumes almost no battery and allows user to turn on player instantly.

donwload very slow..any alt link?

Well, it's link to google drive, that should works nicely almost everywhere. You can surely try to download it directly from our website http://www.shanling.com/download/List

@Shanling Any other changes in new FW? Some release notes?

4.0 is implementing Standy by mode, that's it. If we include more changes, we of course publish changelogs.

The HiBy link features. Or do we have to use the firmware from the HiBy Link thread here on head-fi?

HiBy link was fully implemented in firmware 3.0, so 4.0 of course have it too.

it's included in the firmware RAR

I noticed that the version of the Android app in the download, is HiBy Music 3.0.0 build 5313, but the app on my phone had already updated itself to 3.0.0 build 5350.
