Shanling M0 - Smallest Hi-Res Portable Player - New Firmware V3.6

Hello All,

I bought the M0 after much deliberation. I have the moto z2 force... Which incidentally does not have the headphone jack.

I've just begun exploring into the world of IEMs and quality audio. I've wanted a suitable replacement to that usb-c/3.5mm leach.

The M0 does quite a bit of what I want and more. But, the M0 is not a 100% replacement to the dongle.
  • I still can't make phone calls.
  • I can't use the inline controls
  • I can't navigate using wheel between streaming audio
What I like is that
  • I can use it as a bt interface for my old lsr 305s
  • I can load flac songs on the dap and play them directly (which I use quite a bit. And won't drain your phones battery)
I would still very much like to make phone calls via m0. Is there a plan to make this happen?

M0 has it limits for it's size and price. We believe it's already amazing what we managed to get into such tiny body.

If you like sound of M0, but are looking to use it only as BT receiver and want call functions, Shanling UP2 should be coming around march

I want to add to this serious list of complaints:
  • I can't watch TV on it.
  • It has no pop-out beer-holder like my CD player does.
  • It has not increased the size of my manhood.
Please urgently address these issues in the next firmware.

Wow, you guys are good!

I really agree, the M0 is an amazing product. Sound quality is off the charts for something so tiny and cheap.

If I have one gripe (edit... 2 actually  ), I would love to see a bit more care in the UI, just so we can read full lines of text (auto-scroll or somesuch??). Also, the wheel is a little difficult to adjust, it would be nice to ergonomically have a bit more grip on it to scroll using one hand. Just for your advice :)

Autoscroll would be a great feature. It would help to read the artist name, album name, folder name, and / or song name as the case may be.

Well, not sure how it would look like, how to make it work in best way. All text starts scrolling when you stop on the page?

Note: We are closing our offices today, will be back after holidays, February 19th. Will maybe check in sometimes during that, but be prepared for no support during this time.

Yes, the issue is that the downside of a wonderfully compact unit is that it can be hard to read longer texts. So one approach is that after a small delay, the text would scroll across the display.

Once a song is selected the scrolling would end and we would end up in the regular song views.

I think, as one reviewer pointed out (Currawong if i remember?), the software looks like it's been taken in essence from a player with more screen real estate, thus on a smaller screen limitations are only too obvious (eg unnecessary icons, text truncation, etc) - your proposal is great! As long as scrolling is fast enough or configurable for speed. Ive seen such implementations which beggar belief at how slow the text scrolls :)

Not sure you could address any of these issues through firmware as they would all require hardware upgrades. At least make your firmware requests realistic. :)
Personally I wouldn't advertise that you need help in the manhood area. I think you would need a different kind of firmware for this:)

You could certainly clip the M0 to a cup holder so I don't think it needs to be built in.

Why would you want to watch tv on such a small screen?
