I'm assuming it's LDAC for Bluetooth?

Will H7 support direct connection to iPhone?
Yes, it supports LDAC for Bluetooth.

And it can work with iPhone over USB input, given proper cable is used.

The microsd idea is really interesting. What I find boring about the current amp/DACs or dongle DACs, is the physical connection to the smartphone. It makes less practical using these devices.
But having the phone in your hands and the amp in a pocket or bag could be much easier. Also, it wouldn't discharge the smartphone's battery.
And maybe other companies could follow the trend. A lot of the interest will IMHO depend on how the h7 will be priced.

I think everyone is waiting and watching for the price. Lots of competition in this space so it will need to be competitive.

Well, if you want to stream Hi Res with an Apple device… It will be difficult…
LDAC is not available…

What file types are going to be supported?
I'm talking wavpack DSD and PCM, 5.1 audio, stuff like that.

Highly unlikely
Neutron has 5.1 dsd/pcm decoding capabilities since forever. and dedicated players don't. That's why people end up having to use DAPs with decent CPU or a smartphone.

Interesting, didn't know that. I prefer stereo for music listening though.
I only have a handful, but that industry giants cannot manage 5.1 while a developer that, to my knowledge, works alone and optimizes his work with all the recent DAPs, shows that one dedicated man overwhelms the other developers.
That, or he's dedicated and the others are lazy.

When I was married and raising a child, I moved to more of an ht setup, 5.1 from a ht receiver. I only achieved a satisfying music-listening experience when the artist and/or producer actually did a dedicated 5.1 mix, as Steven Wilson has done, but that is by far the exception. Overall though, I prefer stereo for music these days.

File support will be same as with our MTouch models.

No support for multichannel.
