Shanling CD300

I agree about the sweet mid range with the Shanling CD300/3000 but i think it has slightly less air around the individual instrument and slightly smaller soundstage when compared to my dedicated CD transport to Lavry DA10.

I'm mainly using it with my Little Dot 2 and now Darkvoice 336i -> AKG 701 and i'm very happy with this .Thinking of changing the CD 300's EH 6922 output tube soon.

Pic of the current setup.

Again, this is the biggest reason I no longer consider buying "good value" tubed CDP's or DAC's. Rolled off treble and lack of ultimate micro-detailing is so endemic in this genre. I suggest some Siemens tubes BTW...

Thanks for the Siemens tube suggestion and from recent observation, many on the ebay are on the look out for them too.
