That's a good looking blog you've set-up as well as an excellent review of the HD558.  I think you've got yourself a new follower.

That is interesting to hear someone to say that the HD555 is a bright headphone. My other headphones like the Denon, Stax and my Forstex are far brighter. However since you rate the treble somewhat the same as the HD558 I find my HD555 treble to be smoother in range that my other headphones except for the Stax. The only headphone that I ever had that was less bright than the HD555 was the AKG 240 from long ago. I am tired from the hit and miss with headphones and I will stay with the Sennhieser  line. I was thinking about the HD600 for my next headphones but  since I am quite satisfied with the 500 series's I may get the HD598 instead.

Thanks a lot! You can expect A LOT more updates during the last 2 weeks of August cuz my summer is real busy. My 558 is gone so i have the funds to get a pair of 598 to review and compare.

Well I honestly think I can be the best baseline for the HD555 because I had a limited time with them and they weren't fully burned in as they were my friend's pair and I was going entirely on memory. Anyways, I can confidently say that the treble as the best compared to other headphones I have heard and owned.

ohh yeah also, if u read my review more specifically, i believe my exact words were "neutral leaning towards the brighter side" because i agree, i is definitely not the brightest headphone around

Btw has Sennheiser really fixed the cracking problem with the 518/558/598s?  I really hope so cuz theres no way ill buy one with such a major defect.

They fixed it ages ago, but it's best if you contact Sennheiser as some products may be resting on the shelves for months, but it's been fixed since the July 2011
