Brighter? Uh oh. I used to own the HD595 and found them to be too bright. No 'veil' for sure, but a bit too much top end.

Remember the famous grain of salt, what sounds bright to one may be regarded as veiled by the other, and vice versa. If we really took our different listening habits and genres into account, we could principally almost stop discussing sound signatures. But of course we don't, talk shop is way too much fun...

Tough question mate! Let's just say the we value feedback from all our stakeholders and will act on them. I'm pretty sure our product management and development teams will spring up some surprises in the near future...

thanks for that

assuming I can afford the stuff that comes out, I'd love to get involved. But I'm honestly really happy with what I have. I've been contemplating the 650s, but that can wait for a bit seeing that it will be a bit of an outlay again.

any clue when or if shops in Singapore will be stocking them? I'm headed back in at the end of the year!

So ugly. . . .

They better not release another version of the 650s after all these years, that would piss me off.

Do they really have the same drivers? That's kind of amusing. . .

So is there any word on pricing, release and locations of these headphones? They look so nice, I want to give them a go. Have been looking for another set for a while and the 598s are in the way of getting the 595s. Not a bad thing, but they are a bit yellow...

I was just informed by a colleague from Sennheiser Asia that these new products will be available by late September / early October in Singapore.

So could these be summarised as having a clearer sound with tighter bass? I've only listened to 555s (and 600s once), and while they sound pretty nice, there's definitely that veil.  I'm after AD700s, but if the 5x8s sound anything like them with a slightly more present bass, then I might wait for these Senns instead.  Too much bass will turn me off, however.

If you can, I would suggest waiting, as it is likely that you will find the HD595 at lower prices soon once the HD598 becomes available or soon before.  By that time there will probably be more things to read about on their sound quality vs. the HD595 and if they are available in a dealer in your area when they are released, you can hear them for yourself.
