Sennheiser Q&A: Momentum True Wireless
Jan 22, 2020 at 6:01 PM Post #33 of 36
I recently bought Momentum True Wireless earphones and I am enjoying the brilliant sound quality. The only problem I have with them is that I cannot connect them to the Sennheiser Smart Connect app on my LG V30 running Android 8. The earphones are successfully connected via Bluetooth and switched on yet the app cannot detect them. However, they connect to the iOS version of the Smart Connect app on my iPhone X. Please advise.

I've had this happen on iOS more than once. Here's what I did to get it working again:
  1. Unpair/forget MTW
  2. Delete the Smart Connect app
  3. Re-download the Smart Connect app
  4. Reset the MTW
  5. Re-pair MTW
Resetting the earphones to the factory default settings/Reset
If the function of the earphones is disturbed and a manual restart (> 28) does not improve, reset the earphones to the factory default set- tings. This deletes, among other things, all pairing settings.

  • ▷ Use the USB cable to connect the charging case to a power source (> 12).
  • ▷ Insert the earbuds into the charging case and, within 60 seconds, touch and hold the right and the left touch control panel for at least 30 seconds.
The earphones are reset to the factory default settings.

Hello @tsobik, that's an interesting question but a difficult one to answer, as everyone's ears and brains have a different sense of what "natural" is. This is also true of many professional and amateur measurement rigs... the same pair of earphones will measure a bit differently on another rig. In the end, a headphone never sounds like its frequency response charts, as there are so many more aspects of the sound to hear than just how loud a certain frequency is.

For our part, we designed the Momentum 2 True Wireless to natively play at where our research and focus groups have identified as a pleasant response curve for music listening and enjoyment. However, we also provided a simple parametric EQ in our Smart Control app that makes it easy to play around with different signatures without creating abrupt holes, and stores in the M2TW so it can still be in effect when paired with a device besides a smartphone (like a PC or TV media streamer). Most music playback software also includes it's own EQ options... if you are going to explore, choose playback software that allows you to see the frequency response curve while you adjust, and play a familiar song as you try different presets and adjustments of individual frequency SPLs. Give your brain a little bit of time to see how each adjustment affects different parts of a song.

Our recommended setting with the M2TW is the default, where the Smart Control preset shows flat, but with a little bit of practice, you will be able to find an EQ setting that fits YOUR preferences best.
