Sennheiser MOMENTUM Review
Jan 7, 2015 at 7:21 PM Post #3,391 of 3,594

So, not only is there a Momentum M2, there is a Momentum wireless Bluetooth with ANC. Personally not interested as wire do not bother me. What does is a small piece of technology breaking that would render the phones useless, such as say a slimline hinge, battery, amp/volume control, bluetooth receiver etc. It is not a matter of if but when and that is $500 down the drain (after the 2 year warranty). So very glad that they have it an option.

I asked this in a separate thread, but what are good complimentary headphones for the Momentum? I just got a pair of them last week and while I like them, the lack of sound stage and rolled off treble makes me want to get a complimentary open back pair of cans.

  Beyerdynamic DT880

+1 on this however if you are using them for portable use, you may look like a Spaceman/robot wearing them out in public. I also would recommend the 32 Ohm version.

Wow! Thanks for the recs! I think I should clear a few things up:

1: I had the Beyerdynamic DT990's Premium 32 ohm just before I got the Momentums. Due to circumstances (read: money), I couldn't have kept  the 990's and purchase the Momentums. I think the 990 would be the perfect compliment to the Momentums but I can't afford to get them in the near future. I doubt I'd be able to get the 880's or the K701 in the near future as well, unfortunately.

2: I'm not looking for another portable headphone. Just another complimentary headphone that covers what I feel like are the Momentums weak points.

3: My budget is probably around $150. Which isn't that high, but I think it'd be adequate to get me a solid pair of open back headphones. Even though I know I won't get anything that was as good as the 990's I had.

Does anyone have any experience with the Audio Technica ADxxx series of open back cans?

Maybe AKG K240.

If you can get the treble down slightly through modding, I would also recommend the Presonus HD7... I found it slightly piercing even after modding, but I'm quite sensitive to treble.

HD7 looks exactly like Superlux hd681b. 681 is 1/2 the price.

Looks and sounds are two different things.
Since I've never heard any Superlux I can't recommend it.
Have you heard any of the Superlux models?

true but I'd be willing to bet they come from the same factory.
