just want to know, did sennheiser dept. increase the bass impact on these new momentum m2 ?

It appears not, according to some first impressions: http://www.engadget.com/2015/01/08/sennheiser-momentum-wireless-hands-on/

Of course you can't be sure until you hear it yourself or at least until all the reviews that come out are consistent.

I still wish and hope they improved the sound. I think the orginal momentum wasn't worth its UVP based on sound quality.

By way of sound impressions (original model): Less busy songs came out better with the Momentums. In my opinion unaggressive blues  could not be improved upon with these. It felt like there was no unnecessary 'tension' in the sound which complimented the genre perfectly. The slow but broad bass also gave a sort of 'woomph' in classical pieces which is nice depending what you want. For some reason I want to describe the mids as 'honey-like'.
For most things though I wanted to EQ up the treble and wished for a bit more kick.

I'm in love. Take my money.

Which do you guys think is the more fashionable color? I'm torn between Ivory and Black

Also who is going for the wireless versions?

I think the ivory is better and I almost always wear black.:D

I have had the black and the brown in the original...like the look of the ivory but not for me.

The frequency response for the new MOMENTUM (Over-ear) remains the same as its predecessor. But the M2 comes with larger ear pads resulting in an improved sealing and less bass leakage.

Thanks for the info, Rosmadi.

I'm a HUGE fan of the all of the HD-series headphones from HD 518 to the HD 800.

But the Momentums have always sounded too 'warm and soft' for my taste and I was hoping that it might have been addressed with the new M2 versions.

Oh well.

The continuation of the warm sound signature isn't super surprising though, given the Momentum's more consumer-oriented marketing. I'd absolutely love something of a closed, more portable (but still over-ear) headphone with the HD600 sound signature, but I suppose the Momentum series isn't the place to find that.

So is this also true for the wireless version with activated NC and run through BT? The frequency response stays basically the same?

Yes, all the new MOMENTUM models (wired and wireless) have the same frequency response and characteristics. The only difference is that the wireless models' FR has a higher level setting (about 2-3 dB more). Thus, if one were to compare between active and passive FR curves, there will be a deviation of +/- 3dB (max) at any point of the curve.
