Happening to me as we speak.

There are also times both of them don't sound good when I am not in a good hearing mood.

Haha, sometimes you need to take a break.

I've been juggling between my collections. Trying to play'em evenly.

That's the problem. I can't take a break and these iem's have emerged as my body parts. The only way to take a break is to break them .

Lightning I'm curious if you are using comply foam tips on your IE80s? That will adversely affect the sound of the IE80s and for the worse IMO. Comply tips tend to muffle the sound, increase bass and ruin the treble and mid range.

i actually using the sennheiser large silicone tips. i tried several tips but i cant seems to find the one that fit my ie80 well

Try to look into JVC large single flange tips or V-moda large single flange tips. I've posted links earlier in this thread to them on amazon.com. I don't  find any of the Sennheiser tips to give a good seal. Even the large ones.

I need to try that silver cable to make the IE80 darker.

Yeah I don't think I could ever part with them to be honest. Even when I do go for the Heir 8A I think the IE80 will always be my portable dynamic. Its also hard to part with the FX700 but I could easily live without it :).

Seriously No, the EX1000 can't replace the IE80 for classical music due to its sometimes struggling and less genuine treble. But the EX1000 can be very entertaining when listening to those music meant to be entertaining and less serious (e.g. Taylor Swift's).

I like EX1000 due to its airy headphone-esque soundage. Freaking epic.

Anyhow, regarding IE80 I sometimes it had clarity like BA iems. But then again, I listen to them on bus/public places so it's not a huge deal. The laidback soundage is nice on my ears, so I am not complaining or anything :)

hi, am looking to upgrade my triplefi10's to either the mdr ex1000 or the ie80's, but am confused between the two. I listen to trance, vocal and progressive. Thats about it. So which is better suited for trance? bearing in mind i enjoy the triplefi's sound. how does the ex1000 compare to the triplefi's in terms on bass quality and quantity?

And between the ie80 and ex1000 which on is off better value. considering am from the UK and the ie80's are cheaper here at 270quid while the sony's are 280 at amazon. Oh and my source is 4th gen ipod touch with ibasso t5. Any help will be appreciated.
