I"ve read somewhere that you can remove the nozzle by twisting it, is that true?

You don't want to twist off the nozzle. I accidentally did this while trying to remove comply tips (which muddy up the sound and kill the treble) and it ruined my IE8s. The right driver always sounded off and it really irritated me. I was thinking something was wrong with my hearing...

fitting is not the porblem u see the case with the sony hybrids was that they got me the fit but their opening was very small as compared to the nozzle of IE80 so it messed up the SQ and the sound stage as well, i want to know if the opening is wide enough

Well the TF10 large tips seem to be a bit bigger even than the large sony hybrids. So I see no issue there. But it also depends on your ears YMWV. I've posted links to large single flange tips that work excellent for myself as my ear canals are big as well. Look back a ways and you can find the links to them.

and are they like the hybrids? (same material as the hybrids and thicker than the normal IE80 tips?)

No. Hybrids like the SONY EX-10A and the Radio Shack AUVIO Silicone Tips are molded with two different densities of Silicone: harder for the nozzle, softer for the earpiece.

AUVIO:

SONY: http://store.sony.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplaycatalogId=10551&storeId=10151&langId=-1&partNumber=EPEX10A/BLK

Eartips like the UE's are just one density of silicone throughout.

FYI: The AUVIO's fit the IE-8/80's nozzles perfectly, the SONY's nozzles are too small. I use the AUVIO's and love 'em.

these r probably better as i can see the opening r wider than the hybrids, sony hybrids ****s over the IE80's SQ and soundstage

Yeah, the AUVIO's fit the large Sennheiser nozzles perfectly with NO pinching at the outlet, plus the AUVIO eartips are offset more toward the ear so they sit deeper into your ear than the UE or the stock Sennheiser eartips.

I remember reading posts recommending these Meelec tips for IE8. Would like to hear from those who tried these tips.

From your experience how good these tips are compared to the stock tips in terms of comfort/fit/isolation/sound quality? Thanks

For me, it was the best overall. I've tried those Radio Shack tips, foam SuperTips, and Comply tips. The sound quality doesn't suffer at all, it has a wide bore and very comfortable. It's shaped like Comply tips but silicone.
