Hi all!
So I'm looking into buying some new iem's, and I'm having a tough time choosing between the three choices in the title. I'm mainly just a mobile listener, but I've got lossless files where I can get them. My main media player is a Oneplus One (using RocketPlayer for my flac files) and most of the music I listen to is classical/soundtracks, with just a little bit of everything else thrown in. The most I'd like to spend is pretty much the price of the ie80's, and any other recommendations are absolutely welcome!

hello, well it depends.  there are a variety of factors that you dnot make mention so ill throw out some info and you can go from there.

firstly in term of levels, the IE80 is top teir, the other two are not.  the sen is "better" but that doesnt mean better for you.  its a big bassed V shaped sound.  ton of bass, lots of superb treble, both are about as good as they get, mids a bit lacking in comparison. oh and not great isolators.

the 1000 is great, its cheap, its flatish, it does everything really well but is stand out no where in particular.  its most generalist of the 3.

the T10.  the most insanely good beild quality of anything ever.  sound, well everone seems to hear differente things from it so i really dont know.  my review of its coming soon but im still not pairing up what i hear with what others have said about it, so yeah.

So which ones did you pick?
I'm in the same situation :D can't decide if to go for IE80 or DUNU DN-1000. I have asked ljokerl for his opinion on both and he replied that the DUNU and IE80 are quite different. The DUNU have V-shaped sound characteristics while the IE 80 are more warm and smooth..

Hi. why do you think that the IE 80 are top tier? I know they are made in germany and Sennheiser is a well known brand, but lots of people say that the DUNU are outstanding for their price (currently 180$) and can easily compete with in-ears for 2x the price

well because they are.  in fairness i have the IE8 not the 80 but they should be acoustically pretty much the same.

at the upper levels things like price begin to go all a bit blurry.  the senns also cost much more in the US than generally in europe too.  the dunu 1000 is great, its a really good at every thing and is fairly evenly tuned so you could think of it as a generalist, a really really good one.  the IE8/80 isnt a generalist.  its a V shaped behemoth with the most incredible bass and one the all time best trebles ever.  mids are fine, little dry, bit recessed between the other two.  it is a specialist and specialists take certain things and run with them.

think of it like a ferrari or a sprinter.  there is pretty much one thing the do but they do it so stunningly well they are the absolute best there is.  the dunu 1000 is more like a tri-athleat or a an audi RS4 Avant.  it can do pretty much anything and its really really impressive at everything but it cant keep up to the specialist in what they do best.

top teir stuff tends to be things that are specialist, the dunu-2000 however i think i could classify it as a top teir and generalist. its pretty epicly good everywere but for example in the treble the IE8 would still spank it.  the one that really hold true is that there is less of thing that is "best" than is so much as "best for you"

I'm having the same dilemma. Came home with T20s having walked into a shop to buy IE80s (the T20 were in stock, IE80s - not). I think I'm going to bite the bullet, crack the seal and try the RHAs...

I have the T20's and they are a thing of wonder. They are better after burn in/getting used to them, but will impress out of the box. However, tip choice is very important, I tried them all before realising that I preferred the foams, I get through them quite quickly because they need compressing a lot to get the seal I want.

Thanks - it is great to hear positive reviews from those who own them! What do you make of the bass filters?
