Sennheiser IE8 Vs. washing machine

I've put my Westone 2s through the washing machine and dryer, and they survived with no audible difference to my ears.  It seems IEMs are more durable than we give them credit for.

I figure, almost any earphone can survive water damage as long as they are cleaned and dried well before using them again.
A lot of iphones and other gadgets only get killed because people get impatient and try to turn them on right away or only a couple hours later when the surface
is dry, and that's what really does them in, in the end.

but the westone 2 are armature, right? I believe they are more prompt to survive water than a dynamic coil and a diaphragm.
