Sennheiser IE7: The Review (Lots of pics & comparison with IE8 & HD600)

This IEM is being discussed a lot lately with only one review done earlier.

i thot of doing one too but with comparison to full size cans such as HD600 and IE8 which is the flagship due to the price tag.

Been using it for some months now, it easily has 200+ hours of burn in.

I ll be putting up my opinions soon.....will try to keep it as objective as possible.

One thing i can say that IE7 is the most neutral when it comes to sound of the Sennheiser IE series.

And easily deserves to be in the league of top universal IEMs.

---------Comparison review coming up soon---------

Enjoy some pics meanwhile:

That is the second time I have seen it. The first was on the CX 6:

^ that is to keep the Tips from coming out easily i think.

if it was perfectly circular..tips would easily come out due to large size of bore.

Can't wait for the review...I just ordered mine in yesterday, so they should be here sometime next week or so. The only thing I have (had) to compare it too is the Phonak PFE, so we'll see how it all goes.

Maybe, but they are missing on my IE 8, CX 95 and CX 300 - all of which share the same nozzle shape and size. Hmm...

How's the sound isolation of IE7?
I've used ATH CK9 on plane before and I think it isolates most of the noise including the engine. But I kept hearing people saying it has very bad isolation, which I have the opposite feeling. Some says IE7 doesn't isolate very well, but that might not be true. However, the sound holes on IE7 makes me think it doesn't isolate.
I also have a sony EX85 which has sound holes on it and doesn't isolate at all.

The ie7 must isolate much better than the Sony EX85, since I have had the ex90 for some time a couples of years ago and they didn't isolate much. IE7 is much much better, than EX90 but not as good as Shure EC2. IE7 isolate as good as, for example, CX95 von Sennheiser, about the same as Creative EP630, much better than ATH-CK7. I have tried all those IEMs for a long enough time, to be able to post an objective judgement. An interesting fact is, however, that Sennheiser gives the IE7 20dB of isolation, while the IE8 are rated with 26dB by Sennhesier. User on this forum claim to notice better isolation on the IE7, though...
