Sennheiser IE 8 or Ultimate Ears TripleFi 10

I'm sorry for having to say this - but you need both.

I had both (still have the IE8's) and the only reason I sold the TF10's was because of fit - I was going to have them reshelled, but I have some customs coming and they became redundant. Although, I may still get another pair and reshell them down the road as I really enjoyed their sound.

IE8 - The cable is so good, if I was despondent I could hang myself from the ceiling.

I could live without (and am at the moment) the TF10

I have the choice of buying Sennheiser IE 8 brand new for £100

or a Triple Fi 10 for £129 (Used for a few months)

I understand the soundstage is much wider for Sennheiser but the TF10s have a much better response to mids and highs?

You must be careful about authenticity with the IE8 - there are more fakes than the real thing out there - I think the highs and mids are fine on the IE8 - some say they have a veil - maybe they do, but taken as a package - I enjoy the presentation of the IE8 for long listening sessions - the highs are sharper on the TF10 - but the combination of odd fit and pronounced treble can make for listener fatigue.
