True! Very good bass.I’m still enjoying these for certain genres, the low frequencies are great.

umm doubt so, too much of hassle. Am trying to burn in, but ya I saw your article before. I agree that midrange is funny. Can you return them - the 500s are seriously flawed and seriously overpriced. The 400s, on the other hand, are great earphones.
I talked to the iem tuner at Sennheiser and to their classic-headphones guy. The iem guy was not happy with me but the headphones guy agreed. He himself uses the 400s.
Admittedly, Sennheiser does not make it easy for their customers to find the right selection.
I have all three models, currently: 40s, 400s, 500s...and I wrote reviews for each of them:
https://www.audioreviews.org/earphones/
I am also presently working on a comparison article of the three models including a YouTube video.
You own the 400s, consider yourself lucky..or at least having a lucky hand. I just received the 300s...they measure essentially identical to the 400s (considering that accuracy about 10 kHz is problematic) and also sound very similar. The appended graphs are only good for comparison purposes as I used a tube coupler without correction. Thanks for the video review. I've been following your views on these models. I own the 400s which I much enjoy being a previous owner of the ie40 pro as well. But truth is, comparing them with some multiBA models I own (Shure se846, Mackie mp-460), I find the ie400 pro mids a little recessed. But still a great and smooth sounding pair they are!
Any impressions on the new ie 300 especially comparing to the 400s?

The 300s have different eartips, with a much thinner membrane...and their isolation is pretty poor. The 400s are Made in Germany, the 300s are made in China.
If you have the 400s, you absolutely do not need the 300s.
That photographic comparison will be published later in the week...review to follow.
No, I don't. But since the ie300's driver is a development of the ie800, I would skip the ie800...too expensive...and too old...developed has not stopped recently.I understand.
I was additionally wondering, considering also their substantial price difference, how the ie400s compare to the ie800s soundwise. I am sure you have an idea about that as well.
Yea I guess sennheiser has a weird pricing on some products, maybe meaning to keep the 'premium' tag on the them for marketing purposes. No, I don't. But since the ie300's driver is a development of the ie800, I would skip the ie800...too expensive...and too old...developed has not stopped recently.
The cable is awful in terms of tangling. CP 100s I use for the IE 300s as their stock tips are no good either. But the 500s stock tips work fine for me.Any thoughts on the IE 500 Pro twisted cable? Does it tangle easily? How does it compare to the straight black cable of the IE 400 Pro? I have the IE 100 Pro and 400 Pro and the black cable has a lot of microphonics. Every little movement is transferred into my ears.
Also, @Otto Motor, I noticed you like the large IE Pro tips (those are the only ones that fit me as well), would you recommend getting the CP100 XL tips or should I just stick to the Sennheiser stock tips?
