What's the main difference between the HDVD600 and 800 besides the other amp being digital? Will they sound identical? I really want to buy either the hdvd800 or 600 if the sound is much better than my V200 but I don't want to sell my V800 because I need it to connect to my speaker gear. Would the HDVD600+V800 sound good with eachother or will the HDVD800 produce the better sound? I reckon nobody tested and compared the HDVD600 with the HDVD800. The HDVD600 is probably not in stock yet right?

I have no experience with the v200, but I prefer then HDVA600 to the HDVD800 because I have a better dac. I also believe buying the standalone amp is a better buy.

As far as I know the amp section is identical between the HDVD800 and HDVA600. I have a V800, so I might be able to do a comparison this weekend or early next week between the HDVD800 dac and V800 using the HDVD800 amp section as it has both balanced and unbalanced inputs for when you want to bypass the internal dac.

that would be great, if the DAC-section of the V800 would be better, I'd still be able to save some money on my purchase and still be able to hook up my speakers.

Nopey! No power cables included! I guess this is due to the same amplifier going to all of Sennheiser's worldwide territories!

Drat! Just blown budget on the amp and some other bits - what's a power cable going to set me back?

I am listening with a  Nordost Blue Heave that is 350.00 retail and it works well but you can buy decent cords for under 15.00 if budget is your constraint,

Is it the usual kettle cord that it uses? I'll need to get something ordered.

The prices of these cables seem pretty steep. 250 quid is pretty serious for a headphone cable. What do you guys think?

There are many cable that  could bbe built for less. I would recommend Q cable. Steve Eddy build world class cables and has a new one that you buy at a reasonable price.
