A bit of a weird question but I'm intersted in some opinions.
Let's say the HD800S costs 1500€. How much would you value the HD820 at, the full 2400€ or less?

The general consensus under most professional reviewers and Axel himself is that the sound quality overall of the HD800S is better ,especially with jazz and classical music .With pop music you maybe better off with the HD 820 and if you can’t listen in a quiet environment .So the value for someone of the HD820 depends on the need for a closed headphone and how much willing to pay to get as close as possible the sound quality of the HD800S. In my situation the value of the HD 820 is less than the HD 800S but I don’t need a closed headphone because I can listen in a quiet environment and therefore a open headphone offers for me more benefits than a closed one.

Seems like a sensible logic to me.
So I 'd say when considering pure SQ the value should be a bit below the 800S but then when we figure in the fact that if you need a closed can the 820 is a close as you will get to the 800S it is acceptable it goes for the same price. Is that how I can see it?
A really flat line would be fun to hear, but most people prefer a little power in the bass and a little sparkle in the treble to make things more fun and live / vivid
I never been to a concert where the treble and bass were flat
I have never had the chance to try the HD820 but the HD800 and HD800s seem spot-on to me. It'll be very interesting to try out the newest Sennheiser flagship, probably when I got home.
So I think that people have been searching for a really good audiophile headphone that is closed, now the hd820 comes into the market and has a chance to dominate and hold that title. I've come to realize that I'm not mad at the hd800S for being the better sounding of the two because it's a open headphone. The hd820 though closed is a lot more usable in environments over the hd800S hell with today's faster paced life styles and portable amps being available to drive the hd820 I don't mind taking just a TINY BIT of a sound quality hit to have the hd820 with me wherever I go. Usability is huge and it runs circles around the hd800S in that regard.
Can anyone that have or tried 64 Audio U18t iem compare the sound signature of HD820 to U18t? I tried U18t and really really like the bass and sound tuning but my ears don't feel very good when wearing iem. I hope the HD820 is similiar tuning to U18t. I am looking for U18t sound signature in a closed headphone. THanks!
