Sennheiser have released a new version with an ‘S’ moniker – featuring key acoustic improvements and an additional £250 balanced cable bundled at no extra cost.

Ahem.

What i meant was, you dont have to spend £250 on the 4 pin xlr cable.

The hd800 is £1,099 in the united kingdom. The hd800 s is £1,199, as it is a new enhanced version of the original design which has taken several years of r&d to develop and prices will always rise a little. This is the interesting part however - If you factor in that the xlr 4 pin cable costs £250 for the hd800 and you get it in the box with the hd800s, the hd800s is actually £150 less expensive overall.

I received my HD-800S, but I don't see any sealing unlike IE800. Is it normal? Is there any way for me to check whether it is not opened by a seller or not a returned item? Given this price tag, I thought it should come with a package with pristine sealing...
